The views, the history of the buildings etc. Easy walk into Keswick. Couldny fault it at all

Nice hotel with good facilities for a short lakes break and is very clean and tidy. Parking right outside the hotel is easy and convenient. The hotel has a nice modern bar with relaxing seating area and restaurant with views of the lovely surrounding gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful, check in & out process was very efficient. Only downside is you can hear a few noises at night but to be expected with an old building. Would definitely stay again.

This is a quiet comfortable affordable hotel in the lake district. The food is delicious of good quality and a varied choice. The staff are polite and go about their job in a quiet way so as to cause as little disruption. Only downside but this is my preference no phones in dining room nothing worse ! Excellent otherwise

Lovely hotel with friendly and pleasant staff. Outstanding breakfast/dinner, great selection of bar drinks. Clean rooms, brilliant location, well kept gardens, plenty of nice space to relax with a drink in and around the bar. Very accommodating for our trip to the Lake District.

Very good service. Rooms need to have walk-in showers. Unsafe to try and shower in the bath. Any resident with impaired mobility cannot shower.

Lovely Hotel
In our opinion this Hotel should be 4 star not 3 star. Our room was very spacious clean with good on suite. There are many rooms in this hotel for various functions, some are almost stately. Very relaxing, especially when eating a meal with a good view. This hotel is in close proximity to Keswick city centre.10 minute walk. Breakfast is a simple buffet style. Staff are very helpful

Had a lovely 3 night break. Such friendly staff and excellent dining room service. Only one minus the hand sanitizer beside the lift on 3rd floor empty although mentioned twice to reception.

The hotel first opened in 1869 so if you're looking for swish modern premises this isn't for you. If you're happy with a slightly shabby chic environment, and I don't say that in a derogatory way, then this could fit the bill. Spotlessly clean and well furnished rooms, delightful bar area and lounges. Friendly and helpful staff including cleaners, reception staff and the very attentive restaurant team. Excellent menus and choices at breakfast and dinner. Very happy to recommend.

Traditional hotel
A traditional British hotel. A bit tired in places. Seems to attract an older age group of guest. Staff were excellent- very friendly and efficient - especially the restaurant staff. Our room was a bit quirky (Room 115) with a disorientating sloping floor! Good position in Keswick. Food was good.

A lovely old property reminiscent of times gone by as befits Keswick itself! Set besides beautiful parks full of people enjoying themselves. Couldn’t have chosen a better place for our week in the Lake District!

No air conditioning but is an old building so could provide electric fans for bedrooms. Also could have provided a small fridge. Even for a small hire charge, both would have been welcome.
