Good location, able to access Lake Windermere and surrounding areas easily. Very comfortable bed and good space within room. Only draw back was room location on ground floor next to front door which affected our sleep on both nights due the noise from the other guests entering and a disagreement between two guests outside our window area and front door which required the police to be called to support staff. Would come back but not stay in that room.

We had a fabulous time. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Everything was close by and the spa pass was an added bonus. Thank you.

Great place to stay, comfortable room and lovely breakfast. Ideal location, a short walk into Windermere and then around 15-20 mins walk to Bowness. Being able to leave the car at the hotel before and after check in is a bonus too. Lovely staff as well and very accommodating with us having a baby. Would recommend and stay here again!

Winter Break
Lovely one night break, this was a last minute booking, after checking the reviews, we decide the Howbeck would be ideal for our needs. We stayed in Deepdale which is classed as a superior room, lots of the reviews mention spa baths, however this room only has a shower cubicle. This room is also at the front of the hotel, so there is traffic noise. The room was clean, and spacious. Arriving in February, we expected the radiators to be on, but they weren’t. so the room was colder than we expected. We presume they had been turned off by the previous guests. The breakfast choice had to be made the night before, the Cumberland breakfast was enjoyable. The best thing about this hotel is the location , a few minutes walk into Windermere and 20 minutes walk into Bowness. Being able to leave the car in the hotel car park, after checking out was a bonus.

very sorry about your stay but as you say it was a last minute booking and this was the only room we had left there was no one in the room the day before so the heating was off as this was a last minute booking we did not get chance to get into the room to switch the heating on the chef starts at 7am in the morning so the breakfast is ordered the night before but not cooked until the chef comes in ( not the night before ) just makes it easier to know the night before what everyone is having so it helps us keep wastage costs down

Fantastic management and staff
We had to reschedule our stay due to Covid19 symptoms. The hotel manager and staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Great customer service,and we are looking forward to our stay.

Fabulous spot
Lovely hotel in the lakes. Fantastic place to explore Windermere. We had a fabulous spa bath in our room which we very much enjoyed. The only thing that slightly let us down was an overly soft mattress for our taste but would still absolutely stay again!

Nice little hotel. Free parking onsite. Greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to our room. Good sized room. Location is excellent, only a few minutes by car to the tourist attractions. Breakfast is freshly cooked. Very well run hotel with lovely, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.

Nice, clean property close to local shops and restaurants. 5 minute drive to the lake. Really good breakfast. Room in good condition and comfortable bed. Free wifi available in the room. Had expected the property to be a bit bigger then what it was. Getting to the parking area a bit tight. Didn't use the Choices spa/gym area which is available within 5-10 min drive. Overall good guest house and staff

It had a old world charm, food was decent. there were some issues with the bathroom and the mattress wasn’t Too comfortable. Some of the staff was friendly and attentive but the service could be more warm and welcoming.
