Our cottage has been recently updated, and we hope you love it as much as we do. Parents, we are DIRECTLY on the lake with NO obstruction between you and the lake. If you are concerned about your children running around close to the lake, I highly recommend a different property. I would not consider this property appropriate for toddlers or younger children who are not very strong swimmers. I highly recommend life jackets whenever outside and on the dock. We have professional pest control year round with additional mosquito treatments March-October. You will NOT have access to the boat or boat lift. There is room to tie your boat to the dock. There is electricity on the dock to charge your boat. Smith Lake Park and Hames Marina are the closest public ramps to launch. We have a 2-person kayak, 2 blow-up paddleboards, and some floats. You are responsible for securing these items back to their original place. If these items blow away/ float off, you will be charged for replacement. Other things to note There is a Solo Stove firepit out by the lake for your enjoyment. Please bring your own firewood. DO NOT EMPTY ASHES OUT INTO THE BRUSH. IT WILL START A FIRE. EVEN A DAY LATER. THIS HAS HAPPENED. A propane grill is provided on the back deck with an extra tank. Please let us know if a tank is empty so we can have it refilled. We keep the kitchen stocked with essential condiments for your convenience. Smith Lake is a dry lake. You cannot legally have alcohol on the lake. The restaurants mentioned below do serve alcohol. They incorporate discarded building supplies, bricks, marbles, tiles, pipes, sea shells, marbles, plastic animals, costume jewellery, toilet bowl floats and cold cream jars. Born in 1878 in the Kingdom of Bavaria, Brother Joseph was maimed in an accident that left him slightly hunched due to cervical kyphosis. He immigrated to the United States as a teenager, settling in northern Alabama. Soon afterward he began studying at the newly founded Benedictine monastery of St. Bernard, where he took his vows in 1897. Br. Joseph was not allowed to be ordained as a priest, due to the rule of the period that stated any man with a distracting disability could not be ordained a priest. He ran the monastery’s power plant and was, even by a monk's standards, a withdrawn, quiet man.
