I stayed at the Wheatsheaf Inn because I was working in the area. My room was comfortable, with a nice en-suite shower room. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. The rooms are to the side of the pub, which serves excellent breakfast and evening meals. Plenty of parking available. I'd definitely stay here again if working locally. Good value too.

The Inn is comfortable and quaint, but what really makes this place shine is the staff. We had nothing but pleasant interactions with the staff we encountered. The English breakfast is wonderful, and it was nice that we had a good place for dinner after a long day. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Rugby World Cup
Recommended. Small room, two single beds, adequate for one night stay. Watched Rugby World Cup final on a very large tv in pool room. Friendly staff, good breakfast.

Service and staff were excellent, good pub grub and a nice bar. Room was sad - paint and plaster chipped off the walls, bathroom unfinished with nowhere to hang towels, blown light bulbs

My Bathroom definitely needs an upgrade. Poor quality mattress and light curtains so street lighting lit the room. My daughter and family had a newly fitted bathroom so maybe they are gradually doing that. Excellent breakfast.

Excellent hotel.
We stayed for 2 nights and everything was excellent. The room was the family room at the top of the hotel,which myself my girlfriend and our 2 sons stayed in. The room was very clean and well presented when we arrived. The staff were very welcoming and were very helpful. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and would recommend going there for all.

Most important was the reception from staff. Smiles and helpfulness after we had had a tiring journey. We did say 'thank you' but would like to repeat it. Thanks to all involved and we will use the place again when we travel in the area.

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good menu and breakfast had a lot of choice. The downside was that it was on a very busy road and the window didn't quite shut. It was a front facing room but we noticed that the downstairs room s were facing the back so noise would have been less. Generally enjoyed our stay and Cuckfield is a lovely village.

great room food & location - shower does not work
Great location and nice friendly pub with good food and nice staff. Hotel room was clean and bed comfortable but let down by the shower not working, checked by staff who confirmed shower does not work but unfortunatly no other rooms so nothing they could do. Would happily stay again if the bathroom had a working shower but not if they dont have a working shower, shame as everything else was spot on.

I liked the country location. Good car park at back. Friendly staff. Great quiz compere on Tuesday who made everyone feel welcome. Lovely floral baskets in and around the pub. The breakfast was excellent! 10/10.

Very average. Room was very small with only one power socket if you unplugged the TV. Bathroom very tight, barely room for your hand to pull the toilet flush! The bath taps only functioned to shower, so although there was a bath, you couldn’t use it as a bath!! The food I wanted was off the menu, so I went for the pizza. The base was so charred that I returned it! I was told by the waiter that in their opinion, it was perfectly OK to eat! Seriously, eating burnt food bitters the taste and it is very unhealthy! For the price paid, perhaps you could not expect much more, so that’s why it has an average rating from me.

Great value for money accomodation
Room is very clean, reasonable size had 2 single beds, tea and coffee , tv etc. Road noise tends to quieten at night so not really an issue. Bathroom needs a good revamp it's very clean but needs modernising ditch the bath for a proper shower. The bar servers fantastic food and drink.

The staff welcome was first rate The room was quiet and spacious. The shower facilities were limited- over the bath connected to the taps. Breakfast was brilliant. I would recommend this pub with rooms highly
