It always unnerves me when I've booked into a hotel which looks great but then when I book in I'm told that I'm in the 'modern' section. Previously this has seen me staying in an awful 70's extension to a beautiful country house hotel - but not so here.
My room, although modern, was spacious and well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was a bit of a hike from reception but I was offered assistance with luggage if I wanted it.
I decided to eat in my room and the food did not disappoint - the bavette of beef was beautifully cooked and well presented.
Can't recommend highly enough - well done!
Was pleasantly surprised with the hotel, as only needed one night. We didn't expect the facilities to be available, so we had a drink in the bar and enjoyed that bar area instead of sitting in bedroom. The lady, Laura I think, welcomed us and was so happy and welcoming. It always makes it easy to be comfortable when you know the staff are kind. The breakfast really was very good indeed. Thank you very much. Praise indeed.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Vicarage Hotel - the bed was comfy, service was exceptional and food and facilities were great.
As it was myself and boyfriend who stayed, we really liked the dart board and pool table (and board games!) as they kept us entertained in the evening.
The service at breakfast in the morning was fantastic and the food was extremely tasty. It's all of the little touches which really make a difference to us. We loved the individual milk bottles and how the butter is left in water to keep it fresh.
The only part I would say was a little disappointing was in the room we stayed in, it had an adjoining door to the next room. As this seemed to be just one single door we could hear everything next door was saying word for word as well as the rustling of opening a biscuit packet. This wasn't a huge problem as they weren't ridiculously noisy, however we felt as if we needed to not talk so loud as we didn't want to disturb them!
All in all it was a very positive stay and if we are in the area again we would definitely book in.
Thank you! :)

I had to go to Crewe on business I shared the room with a friend, when I booked, the room photo showed a sofa bed but when we arrived it was a double. The reception changed the room to a twin no problem at all. I found the room a little too hot and do wish they would offer ac but I was told when we checked out we could have requested a fan. Breakfast was OK. Nicely cooked but not much choice of cooked breakfast but plenty of tea coffee and cereals to choose from. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. I lost my keys there and they were posted back to me no problem. I always choose this hotel as it is quiet and modern and convenient for my trips to Crewe
Just stayed one night here on business and had a good night's sleep. I was too late to eat in the restaurant so I had a meal in the bar (tikka masala) which was a bit bland and difficult to eat because of the way it was served.
Otherwise, the hotel and it's surroundings are very pleasant.
Stayed for one night, last minute booking. Hotel is nice enough, but they've got the decor all wrong. An impressive Victorian hotel on the outside, on the inside you find it's been painted with pastel colours and given a minimalist setup. That jars with the layout of the place. It should look like as it was intended to look in the Victorian era: packed with warm colours, lots of pictures and furniture. My room was ok, spacious, therefore a bit cold so an electric heater was included. If you're a trainspotter then my room overlooking the station would be ideal. If hearing trains go past isn't you thing then this is not the place for you.

Business trip to Crewe so only wanted a clean and convenient hotel with a reputable name. Hotel was easy to fine, close to the station and what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Staff were friendly and eager to assist although they did direct my colleague into a bedroom that didn't exist.
had expected a small single room and pleasantly surprised to be allocated a double at the back which overlooked the side of the kitchen and a large grassy garden with some nice trees.
Furnishings need updating and both side cabinets and chest of drawers were rather old and had numerous ingrained stains. The cord in the en suite consisted of a dirty piece of string and I needed to clean the to remote control which was very dirty.
Bedding spotless and a comfy bed and overall decor dated.
The breakfast was very good, freshly cooked and the dining area very pleasant albet rather dated.
With a little bit of TLC this could be a very pleasant hotel since more attention to detail and decor would work wonders.
It is fine for an overnight stay and situated in a really nice part of Cheshire.

Predominantly known as a railway town, Crewe's history stems from its importance as a major junction and rail engineering base. The town is still fantastically connected and is a frequent stop for travelers heading to the Northwest of the UK. The expansive Queen's Park is a fine area for locals and visitors alike, featuring a lake with boat hire, an outdoor gym, and a golf course.
