We had a fantastic stay at IH Mont Blanc. The rooms, food, staff, and location was perfect for us to enjoy a ski trip at Courmayeur.

The Spa is the main reason we booked the hotel. No where on the Expedia page does it say they charge 20 euro per person for use. In the end we stayed away. Hotel is old, but good location. View is unbeatable.

2-star hotel charging for 4-star price
Don't be fooled by the photos of the spa, there is an extra charge of EUR20 per person, you need to make a reservation, and it closes at 8pm. The room had beams in the ceiling, which made the room to be effectively 5.5ft high, my husband (6ft) could not walk around without bending... Breakfast was disappointing with a cheap coffee machine, vending machine juice station and below average pastries. We stay in the town every year and there are plenty of 2-3 star hotels in the town that offer much more comfortable room, better breakfast with waiter/waitress, and a complimentary sauna for half the price. There is also a separate charge to use the parking but you have to take out the car at 11am which is not possible if you are skiing.

Hotel is a very clean, well kept property. We had a nice triple room with balcony. Restaurant and bar area/common areas are well taken care of and available to all. Walkable area to other restaurants and shops. My only complaint is the road noise as it is on a major street, and our room was facing the street.

The staff were pleasant enough but the hotel was understaffed. Our first room was on the highway with poorly insulated windows and very noisy. The view out the window was literally of the highway panels. After our first sleepless night, the staff did change our room which was quieter but still a bit sad. A hall light outside of the bathroom was impossible to turn off and flickered all night. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The location is an easy walk to both the village and the ski area but nothing felt special, happy or appealing at this hotel. We left after 2 nights and were not reimbursed for the remaining 2 nights on the reservation.

Hello,Thank you for your review. As regards your sleepless first night, our reception staff has promptly satisfied your request of a quiet room, even thought the Hotel was full booked. We would like to clarify that we always accomodate any preference for the room, if pointed out in advance. Every light has a switch and we verified that everyone of them worked. The policy of cancellation did not contemplate the refund and also the room has been held for all the reserved period. The last two nights have been used by another guest of your acquaintance. We regret that the day of the check out you left the hotel without stopping at the reception, to pay the city tax and say goodbye.We will for sure take account of your suggestions.

Excellent Staff
The hotel was of a good standard and located well for bars and restaurants but what made our stay even more enjoyable was the staff. Everyone made us feel very welcome and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Great stay in the heart of Courmayeur.
Great hotel in the heart of Courmayeur. Staff was very helpful assisting us with several phone calls that we could not make with our mobile phone. Room was excellent and staff gave us an upgrade. The hotel exceeded our expectations! Very happy with the Mont Blanc Resort.

Spectacular location!
Very nice. Staff excellent. Clean and very comfortable. Rooms are small and beds are as well. Lobby and entire downstairs is as great as it gets. Warm fireplaces with lots of people to share a conversant over a glass of wine. Liked this hotel very much. Parking garage is small and a little gloomy. Good but not great breakfast. Wonderful scenery right outside front door. Highly recommend!!

Great Location
Fantastic location in Courmayeur, very close to the amazing Skyway Monte Bianco. Great local restaurants close by too. Also only a short drive across the border to Chamonix.

Very nice stay in the middle of TMB
It's a hotel close to downtown, just around 5 minutes walk. The room was tidy and clean, but the second floor of the room was a bit hot. However, the breakfast surprised me with delicious scrambled eggs! It's generally worth staying there.

Decent hotel, friendly staff
Very friendly staff, especially the lady on reception, Michael in the bar and Lorenzo in dining hall. They offer a free bus to and from the ski lift. Breakfast is the standard Italian mix of cake, pastry and a bit of cereal, egg and meat. They kindly made us an omelette each day. Location is 5 mins walk from town centre. Hotel is decent and fine for a ski hoiday.

What a let down!
We were transferred to another hotel as the hotel mont blanc decided not to open despite having taken our booking. And the room we were given in the hotel del viale was an attic room with no balcony and cramped by having too many beds in it. Once we complained we were transferred to a better room after 1 night, We chose the hotel mont blanc due to it's proximity to town centre facilities and the fact that it did hald board. The substitute hotel was 10 minutes walk away and did not do half board so we had to find somewhere to eat out every night. All in all we felt very let down by the hotel Mont Blanc and hotels.com.

Loved it!
The hotel is lovely. My room was pefect with an increduble view of the mountains. I stayed here on the off seasom and got a great rate. It really was a treat after 4 days on the TMB. The location is perfect, just behind the bus station and a 3 minute walk to the center of town. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I loved everthing about my stay!

Good for skiing holiday with friends
Skiing trip with friends. Late February. Perfect conditions. The town is quite quiet although restaurants are packed (make reservations). Although the hotel looks like it is on a main road, this was not an issue (rear facing room might have helped) and the walk to town was not along the road and was only a few minutes. Hotel bar is nice and all the staff are really friendly - I think they are a large family. Slightly surprised when Massimo the minibus driver was singing for the evening entertainment in the bar but we enjoyed it.

Rooms are nice, but no wifi in rooms. Bathrooms lovely. Shuttle to ski lifts but comes at a charge. Friendly staff, couldn't be more helpful. Lovely food, cater for all allergies and offer a great breakfast. Part of the main strip but opposite end of main lift and shops. Very functional and was a lovely stay. Good value for money but not a four star as you might expect.

Hot, noisy, smokey, waste of money
It was 33°C in the room at night making it incredibly uncomfortable for sleeping. We had to keep the window open, but the room was right above the terrace with music playing and people smoking. It was like trying to sleep in a bar. The “balcony” looks at the back of the hotel’s façade, making it difficult to get a breeze let alone a view of anything but a wood wall. Absolutely horrible night’s sleep. I stayed here a year earlier and had the end room, which was great. But this room was on the front side of the hotel and as far as I can tell most of the rooms on the front side of the hotel have balconies without views that simply face a wood wall. But the worst part is that the seating for the bar is right below with smoke wafting up all night. Even if the rooms on the backside of the hotel are better, you have a 50/50 chance of a decent room. Nice and cordial staff. But sadly overpriced and incredibly uncomfortable place to stay if you plan on trying to sleep at night during the summer.

Would use again!
For comedic reasons we ended up staying in a variety of rooms.. all the rooms are very different in terms of bathroom, size, views etc so ask for what is most important for your needs. It is possible to walk to the ski lifts but it will quickly wear your ski boots out! We walked the first few days and then took the car and parked at the Dolonne lift, easy!

Great value hotel
I stayed in two different rooms and both were in very good condition, with renovated bathrooms and the bar-fridge was handy. One room even had a balcony with a view of the mountains. Location, while not in the old part of town (which is just five minutes away on foot), was just a short stroll from the bus terminus and tourist office.
