Quiet retreat

Posted 30-Sep-2017
A lovely hotel a short walk away from the buzz of Benahavis. Be warned though, the walk is up a very steep hill. The hotel is set in pleasant grounds with two pools set on two levels. There were plenty of sunbed on my visit but this was in September. There is a pleasant cafe serving snacks and drinks. The rooms are large with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. Some of the rooms are looking a little tired in places; cracked tiles, dated shower, etc but are clean. As my family attended a wedding I was able to see a number of the rooms. There are several with lovely views over the pools, if I was to stay again I would ask for one of these. In addition, there is also a spa and health centre. Entrance is free for the first hour. If I was to go to Benahavis again I would be happy to stay here again as it was good value for money.

Traditional hotel in a good location !

Posted 13-Sep-2017
Pros: The location and the size of the rooms. We liked that there was 2 pools and their setting.
Cons: Redecoration the rooms, and upgrading the bathrooms. More friendly staff ! I am unsure about recommending a friend but only 2 options.
Location: A pretty location with great views . Good restaurants within walking distance. No real local bus service so recommend a car if you want to tour around.
The hotel has traditional Spanish decor with dated bathrooms and showers . We found several of the staff only acknowledged you if you spoke or smiled at them. Some didn't even do that. Not enough info was given at check in .The breakfast was average and the only lunch we had there was disappointing. There was a wedding on the Saturday which impacted on our stay for about 3 or 4 days. There seemed not enough staff to cope and affected the service.Having said all that we did enjoy our holiday and found Benahavis a lovely location with plenty of restaurants and walks .

A relaxing long weekend break

Posted 11-Jul-2017
Pros: Location, ambience, staff, facilities, rooms
Cons: The decor is starting to look a little tired in some areas.
Location: Inland alongside a river (mostly dry bed in summer). Lots of sports areas (Malaga FC was training there) and lots of fab restaurants for great food
Been to this hotel before and it is still wonderful. It is away from the typical Costa del Sol resorts and gives a luxury touch to your break. The hotel is not a high rise and is very quiet - there is hardly any traffic noise, and it has a spacious, relaxed, classy feeling. Lots of sunbeds around the 2 pools so you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn to claim one. Not many children (but we were there before the UK school holidays). We had lunch here every day and it was good food for a hotel. The staff can not do enough for you and are very attentive. The rooms are huge, clean and very comfortable. Benahavis village itself is so beautiful and the restaurants are amazing. Yes it is up a very steep hill but the walk up gives you an appetite. If you enjoy good food & wine, peaceful surroundings and excellent service this place is for you. If you want a disco, booze all night and "kiss me quick" entertainment this is NOT for you.

Pros: Quiet
Cons: Needs a renovation and rooms need to be cleaned well.
Location: Benahavis Town that has lots of restaurants.
I have stayed here 4 years ago and was very happy with my stay, but unfortunately after staying here this year(2017) i was very disappointed with my stay. 1- Ants were all over the place in my room. 2- Weird insects in the breakfast buffet counter. 3- Needs a major renovation

Beautiful Benahavis

Posted 01-May-2017 on Hotels
The rooms are very tired and need updating. Also, if you're not bothered about a balcony then don't pay for the superior rooms as the standard are just the same. The machines in the gym weren't working either. All that said we enjoyed our stay because of the great restaurants and lovely village of Benahavis.

Lovely hotel excellent staff

Posted 01-May-2017
Pros: The staff go out of their way to accommodate you.
Cons: The buffet
Location: Lots of lovely Golf courses and places to walk.
Only issue was we had a 12oclock checkout and a late flight, and they didn't have facilities for us to shower or get changed once their Spar was closed.
