Good hotel for the island

Posted 13-Aug-2015
Hotel was good. Room was clean and comfortable. There were bugs everywhere on the property but it was on the beach. The breakfast was okay. I thought it would have been better. That's why I didn't rate it great.

Close to the beach but not what we expected

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: Cleaning staff was helpful and very courteous, breakfast was good (service & food)
Cons: Service vending machines, relocate ice machine, maybe some landscaping. The hotel is in walking distance from the bay but there is no path
Location: Convenient location on the island. 5 miles away from State Park. Padre Pizza, Burger Company & Snoopy's all have great food within a few miles
The hotel was more like a motel. The rooms are on the outside so you hear a lot of noise throughout the night. The ice machine runs out of ice every thirty minutes and it is located on the outside of the building allowing access to anyone with a cooler. The vending machines were out of order the entire stay. The swimming pool was a bit smaller than we expected as well. We only met two ladies up front (check-in & check-out), Amber and another young lady. Amber was very friendly & helpful. I found the other to be short-spoken & rude. On a more positive note, the breakfast was not that bad and it was well maintained throughout the service. Other than one young lady that greeted us around 1-pm on Thursday, the staff was great! After making a few comments about the ice machine always being out, one of the cleaning ladies dropped a bucket off in our room while we were out at the beach. It was a pleasant surprise after being so disappointed. I did not get her name but the entire cleaning team should get a pat on the back. The rooms are very specious, have high ceilings & ceiling fans. All in all, it wasn't horrible but the price we paid was a bit much for what we received. If you are looking for a place to stay by the beach and do not have high expectations, this may be a place for you. If you have young kids and are trying to have a pleasant family vacation, you may want to check in someplace else.

Good place to stay on the Island.

Posted 02-Aug-2015
Pros: Roomy and clean.
Cons: Outside need some cleaning.
Location: Great location, many places to eat and several beach access.
We stop Corpus Christi for couple nights. Don't just the hotel from outside look! The room is clean and no smell. Breakfast is good. Outside could be cleaner and new paint will be nice.

GREAT LOCATION

Posted 01-Aug-2015
Pros: The location and staff. The AC worked fabulous and pool was clean
Cons: Better internet service
Location: Mustang Island was a short drive from location.
Loved the location which is what we wanted to be near Mustang Island. The only problem we had was that we could not get internet connection in our room. It would say poor internet connection or error. Even after resetting, the internet was not working ino ur room.

Location is very good

Posted 24-Jun-2015
Pros: Location and great staff. Great hot breakfast
Cons: Pet fee of $20 per night is double the going rate, but they cap it at $100 per stay. They should go with the standard rate of $10 per night.
Location: Location is great, 1/4 mile from Scuttlebutts, a wonderful restaurant. Five minutes from free city beach and many beach access roads.
Spent seven nights here, staying one more night than we had planned.Location is great, 1/4 mile from Scuttlebutts, a wonderful restaurant. Five minutes from free city beach and many beach access roads. Twenty minutes from Padre Island National seashore park with great facilities, and free to seniors with pass. Rooms were large and well outfitted. Very comfortable king-size bed. Hot breakfast was hot even when showing up late in the morning, and the menu changes daily to keep things interesting and tasty.

Ok, but not worth the money

Posted 20-Jun-2015
Pros: The location
Cons: They need to exterminate and seal doors better.
Location: The location is good, close to the island and causeway. Good fishing near by.
The room was nice, but there were way too many bugs outside the rooms. Stink bugs, ants and other beetles that managed to make it inside the room. Found a dead bug under the sheets. The room door did not have a good seal, you could see through at the bottom. The room was comfortable otherwise.
