WARNING!!! This property is located in a free zone. That means it is between the Belize border and the Mexican border. Since we booked this hotel the day before we checked in, we had to pay $20 per person to enter the free zone. It was later refunded, but WHAT A HASSLE.

Good Evening Ms. Gray, Thank you for taking the time on writing a review. Sorry if it was a hassle. That is a departure fee for foreigners for when they leave the country of Belize. That’s enacted by the government. There is nothing that the hotel can do about it. If you inform us days prior, we do have a policy at the hotel whereby we will get a waiver for you on that fee, so you do not have to pay that immigration fee. But whenever, last minute reservations are made, whereby our guest pays that fee; the hotel refunds the fee when you stay here with us.We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you again. I love our room. We always get the suite because of how roomy it is. I never stayed in hotel room with two bathrooms it is nice to have.

This reservation was such a MISTAKE! This building is NOT in Belize as they claim it is. Why else would they fly the Mexican Flag, 2/3rds of their tv stations are in Spanish and their casino pays out in PESOS? Their brochures claim multi-currency machines at their casino but again. THEY AREN'T WHAT THEY ARE CLAIMED to be. They only accept Mexican money, no US and NO Belize!! We had to wait in line for immigration and PAY Mexican officials 32 Dollars US just to get to the hotel. Then leaving, we have to wait in line again to re-enter Belize through their immigration! What a crock! The building was clean & neat but they did not tell you ANY of this EXTRA COSTS until you have booked. They claim it was covered in the "welcome letter" they sent AFTER we had paid but they should try being honest and telling people ahead of them booking. I told them to ignore the reservation and I would pay cash for one night only instead of 7. I was not going to allow myself to be screwed! No, do yourself a favor if in Corozal and stay at Tony's on the bay...nicer place, ZERO hassle! Also, the elevators at the Lav Vegas hotel and Casino were not working correctly, stopping 4" BELOW the floor causing me to badly cut my finger when I fell exiting the broken elevator. Please see the pics!

Good night Mr. Jefferey, Greetings from Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Our building is in Belize outside of the immigration and Customs buildings. We are next to the Corozal Free Zone with 600 stores. We are on the Belize/Mexico border and fly both flags, Mexico and Belize. We use three currencies, pesos, U.S. and Belize dollars, and you pay in whatever currency you are use. The government has a charge leaving immigration of $17.50 usd (departure tax), that can be waived if we can get a copy of your passport. We sent you a welcome email twice asking for a copy of your passport so we could expedite your passage in and out of Belize immigration and Customs area with expediency, but you never provided that document. there are no other "extra costs" other than a standard 9% hotel tax. Breakfast is free and our food, which is some of the best in Belize, is at a very low competitive pricing. You make reference to Tony's, which is a nice place, but we have by far superior room accommodations, pool, fitness center and other amenities. We are sorry you were upset as we do make every effort to make our customers happy, and the vast majority are.

the Executive Suite was excellent.
i was in Ah with my Executive Suite room. 2 plush rugs greeted us upon entering the room. The mattress was so comfortable.especially for me with back problems. The pillows were large, soft and comfortable. Surely enjoyed my stay, sorry it was only for 1 night,

Hotel great, getting there a challenge
Let’s start with the hotel itself. It is a wonderful facility, very clean and the service is impeccable. Now for the problem, location, location, location. Although it is listed as being in Belize, it is beyond the border control point so if traveling from Belize, it is an ordeal to get to the hotel. First, all passengers must “align” at the border, go through immigration and customs as if you are going into Mexico. Long lines, surly, grouchy Mexical Customs agents. Oh yea, did I mention that you have to pay the $30 per person Belize departure Tax because you are going past the border control point which is located in Belize even though you never set foot in Mexico. Hotel is located in the free zone, well let me tell you there is nothing free about it. It took over an hour to get to the hotel from border control point. Getting back in Belize was worse, even though you never actually leave Belize. All passengers must again get out of the vehicle and go through Belize customs and immigration. Did I mention that all luggage also has to be unload but there are lots of friendly porters at hand to take your luggage into the customs/immigration building which you have to personally take though the customs point. He then takes your luggage out into the parking lot (tip expected) where the driver of your vehicle can pick up passengers and luggage after driving the car through customs, where it is virtually “strip searched”. If you love hassle, this is the trip for you!!!

Very friendly nice staff who all spoke English and gave great service. Whatever you asked for they did their best to service you properly. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again.

Disappointed!
This could be a ver nice place to stay for anyone wanting to be locked in the "free zone" with nowhere to go explore. The hotel does not inform guests, prior to making a reservation, that you have to go through customs, pay $20USD and show passports to get into the hotel (when coming from Belize side). If you want to leave the area, you have to pay to enter all over again. We were told at immigration that we could get a letter from the hotel and travel freely in and out, but they never provided it to us. Front desk folks are nice, but less that organized. The best things about the hotel are the restaurant (great food) and the bars (great, cheap drinks). The rooms are also nice and quiet. I would really have loved to see Corozal town, but the hassle of leaving and getting back to the hotel was not worth it. I will not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend to friends that they visit it either.

Very nice Hotel/Casino in the free zone
The hotel is between Mexico and Belize in the free zone. Has more of a Mexican flare. The rooms are well appointed. The hotel amenities are excellent. Loved the East Indian menu in the restaurant the butter chicken and curries were delicious.

A Rose in the Wilderness
First I'll say that the pictures on the website don't really do the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino justice. Our stay at the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino was fantastic. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The main restaurant staff was very accommodating and the food was great. I really can't speak much about casino since I'm not a gambler but it seemed to be fully loaded, all of the games, machines, and the works. Unfortunately, outside of the hotel there's not much to do. The closest place with anything resembling entertaining is Chetumal, Mexico, about 20 minutes away. It was a wonderful time at the Vegas Hotel thanks to all of the wonderful people there.

Great location for a good rest.
We were on our way to Cancun and we driving for so long, so we booked this hotel for one night so we cluld rest and the beds were so confortable we were able to have a good night sleep then we continue with our trip i'll definitely come back to this hotel for a long weekend!

Great hotel
Everyone in the hotel except one guy in the restaurant were the most pleasant and helpful people. Hotel was very clean and the beds are incredibly comfortable

Las Vegas Hotel of N. Belize / Free Trade Zone
The hotel staff and facility are modern, well maintained and staffed. The hotel is located outside the Belize immigration zone so it is easily accessible from Mexico and one does not have to enter Belize to access the hotel and the shopping there. The facility is attached of course to their casino and the restaurant there is used by the hotel and served a nice selection of food. The facility also has a spa and gym for those desiring. The staff is very professional and were attentive to every need. If you are going to use the hotel from the Belize side, on your way to Mexico, expect to exit customs prior to getting to the hotel. You'll pay a BZ$80.00 ($40.00 USD) exit tax, per person, to leave Belize if you are not a Belize citizen, so best to take care of all your Belize business prior to going to the hotel so as to avoid having to pay the exit tax too many times and having to go back through Belize customs to re-enter Belize which can take a long while if a bus or other large crowd is in front of you.

Great Hotel & Great Location for Mexico & Belize!
The hotel and rooms were quiet, clean, and in excellent shape.The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and even the president of the hotel called to check in to see that all needs were being met properly.The pool/bar area, and the restaurant were very peaceful places to relax, and the casino itself never got overcrowded and was a good place for gaming if you are so inclined.The stay also includes a nice choice of restaurant-style breakfast every morning, so that's another expense you needn't worry about. Travel Tips: 1) Chetumal, Mexico, is a 20 min. cab ride at 120 pesos (8 bucks) each way, and you can SAFELY cross over with NO BORDER FEES as long as you don't stay past 7 days in Mexico. Don't pay any attention to anything else you see, read, or hear anywhere else- this is a tried & tested (by me) fact! There is plenty to do in the way of shopping, dining, and culture in this quaint little seaside town with family beaches, Walmart, Sam's Club, movie theaters, a mall, and a host of curbside restaurants & bars. They are even opening up a few museums, and there is a boat dock for transport back to Belize if that's your desire. 2) Staying at this hotel holds ONE minor inconvenience if your goal is to visit and tour Belize itself.The location is in what's called a "Free Zone" and each time you leave the hotel to go into Belize, you must go through an immigration gate(NO CHARGE). When you RETURN from Belize, there IS a $15 charge. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Free Zone Hotel
The Las Vegas Hotel and Casino is located in the "Free Zone" between the borders of Mexico and Belize. There is an abundance of shopping and a couple of hotel/casinos. The Las Vegas Hotel and Casino was very comfortable> The rooms are large and very clean. Staff is bilingual (Spanish and English) and extremely helpful. The Aces restaurant in the casino serves very tasty food.

Estuve Hospedado 4 Noches es un Hotel Amplio con gran alberca y bar en la misma, el personal es amable muy respetuoso y te brindan un excelente trato, cuenta con un Excelente Casino donde te darán bebidas gratis como cervezas, Refrescos, Agua, Etc. Tiene un Restaurante con cocina Internacional con sabores únicos y también si estas en el casino y se te pasaron las copas o si simplemente tienes antojos en el mismo casino esta permanentemente abierto una zona de alimentos con todo tipo de platillos deliciosos y snaks variados, las pizzas son las mejores de todo belize, allí encontraras desde alitas, hasta spaguetti bolognesa etc etc Este hotel esta ubicado dentro de la zona libre de Belice es seguro, limpio, cuenta con Policia vigilando el Casino, Te tratan bien si juegas ellos cuidan que todo sea correcto y nadie trata de sacarte ningún provecho, cuidan de tu persona en todo momento y hacen una estancia agradable

El personal de Recepcion no sonríen y no te hacen sentir bienvenido. Las camaristas y los agentes de seguridad. Sonríen, saludas y si les pides ayuda lo hacen con gusto.

Mejor opción para hospedarse en Chetumal
Me gusta mucho los servicios de calidad que ofrecen.. El mantenimiento de las habitaciones es muy bueno.. El agua es totalmente purificada y la comida deliciosa .. Los canales de televisión son muchísimos y variados

Muy buen hotel!!!!
Excelente hotel, muy buen ambiente en el casino y el personal muy atento. Excelente para personas que van de compras a la Zona Libre o van a pasear entre Chetumal y Belice. El único detalle es el transporte del Aeropuerto de Chetumal al hotel, pero no es culpa de ellos sino de las autoridades mexicanas (Entre aduana y la mafia de taxis afiliados al PRI). Ya que un taxi por el recorrido de 10 min me cobraron $250.

Hotel an der Grenze zwischen Belize und Mexiko
Die Hotelzimmer befanden sich für uns enttäuschend in einem Nebengebäude. Das Haupthaus selber wird gerade neu renoviert. Alles erkennbar an einer noch bestehenden Baustelle. Wenn das eigentliche Hotel eröffnet wird mit Swimmingpool usw., dann ist es sicher fantastisch. Im Moment sind aber im Grenzgebiet enorm viele Baustellen, so dass das landschaftliche Ambiente weniger schön ist. Unser Zimmer im Nebengebäude war in einem neuwertigen Zustand, ohne Mängel allerdings an einer befahrenen Straße und somit mit Geräuschbelästigung verbunden. Das Einchecken erfolgt an der Rezeption im Haupthaus, welche direkt sich mit im Casino befindet, für uns etwas verwirrend. Das Personal dort erschien uns überfordert. Scheinbar hat das Hotel noch nicht so viele Übernachtungsgäste gehabt. Dafür, dass es durch die Baumaßnahmen noch einen Übergangsstatus hat fanden wir das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für die Übernachtung überzogen. Dinner kann man im Casinorestaurant einnehmen. Das war sehr gut, große Auswahl zu moderaten Preisen.
