This was my first time staying at the hotel, and second trip for my husband. The history, craftsmanship and grounds are amazing. The price you pay per night, sets a pretty high bar of expectations. We had a great time, but left a little disappointed. We flew in from Seattle and tried to check in just before 10pm on Friday 10/2. There were a few folks in line to check in front of us, but NO ONE at the front reception was surprising. Then a few more couples came to the front reception desk for help on separate items and still no one was there at Reception. Eventually, a nice gentleman came around and we couldn't help but hear the hotel was fully booked, and the couple at the front of the line, the hotel Del didn't have any record of a reservation for them. They were asked nicely to step aside. I would highly suggest having more than one person work reception Friday nights, to greet incoming guests when they arrive, even an acknowledgement of your arrival goes a long ways, and then the extra staff could also help folks check in swiftly and help with customers questions/issues.
Staff was extremely courteous and wanting to tend to your needs. Garage access was convenient using your room key to go in and out. Location great, ferry over to downtown gas lamp and 20 min drive to SeaWorld.
"There is no better place to stay in Coronado... "
Right from the start the Experience was fantastic. We were scheduled to be in a Delux room but while checking in the staff asked us what brought us to Coronado we told them we lived here years ago and we are back to celebrate our 30 yr. wedding anniversary.. That's all we had to say, they upgraded us to a suite that was awesome.. I will tell you this, with the staff, rooms, 2 restaurants on premises a French for breakfast & Lunch crazy good, Mexican for lunch & dinner with a bar. Nice pool with hot tub. One more important thing.... Towels and sheets were wonderful.
Great location directly across the street from The Del Coronado Hotel and Beach with easy access to everything on the island. The staff is excellent! Very professional, happy and accommodating! For $17/day you got wireless connectivity, use of their cruising bicycles & parking in their gated parking garage. They also have beach chairs, beach towels, etc. to use, too. Most other hotels charge a lot more for all these items, so this was a great deal. The hotel building itself is dated, but they have made upgrades to the rooms and lobby and we had a very pleasant experience staying here.

This hotel is very small and almost on the corner of Fourth and Orange. This made it convenient when I got ready to leave. The room I had had no closet and was big enough for one or two slim people. The bed was comfortable and it's Coronado Island. How can you go wrong?
This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast, we found it really refreshing. Everything in the area surrounding the Cherokee Lodge was so easy to get too. You could walk to see anything you wanted to do. We were worried that a Bed and Breakfast would be noisy and it was just the opposite, we did not even know anybody else was there.
