The Whitehouse Inn, Penhellow
Just stayed for 2 nights, the Inn has 12 rooms free fast wifi, and the two rooms we had, family room and standard room, were spacious , clean, and lots of hot water for bath and shower, and we had a virtual check in, we booked pre covid-19, for a great price from Hotels.com, and it was great to see that that the inn hadnt closed down, it was a pity the restaurant and bar were closed, but we undertstand why! The full English breakfasts were cooked to order, and there was a lot of leeway on the breakfast options, as the grandkids only want sausage butties for breakfast, cereals , OJ and tea / Coffee and Toast were also available., Because the restaurant is currently closed, we ordered from a takeaway on Just Eat, for evening meals, and had it delivered to the courtyard, we had a great evening eating and drinking, and making merry. Covid-19 has taken its toll on the upkeep of the grounds and garden, and it will take some time to get the Inn back up to the highest of standards, but this Inn is a great base for exploring south Cornwall, with Lands End/ Lizard, Penzance/ Falmouth quickly reached.

Whitehouse Inn and lodge
Due to some of the previous reviews we were unsure if what we would find but how wrong we were. The staff very very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, the rooms clean and tidy, there was an issue about the heater in the room, but they had supplied a free standing one, but we found even in February the room was warm enough. There is issues with the WiFi, but this could have been that there was 3 different Wi-Fi 's. But also I had BT and couldn't get a signal or connect to WiFi whereas my wife had O2, and it was fine.

Comfortable hotel

Staff were very friendly and helpful. However the inn it’s self is in desperate need of a make over. We stayed in the twin room where mattresses were old and stained. Although carpets were vacuumed they were also stained

Amazingly quiet night
Lovely big room, nice comfy bed. Had a great night in amazingly quiet room. Lovely friendly staff and good pub food. Definitely would stay again.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times of the years at this last trip was really really disappointing. The room was really dirty which isn’t idea when traveling with a 5 month old baby. The bathroom had grime everywhere and the bath/shower was broken. Not recommend and won’t be going back which is a shame because it was really nice in the past.

Very friendly atmosphere. Love the staff, they were very friendly easy to talk to very helpful. The room was good and beds comfy. Would definitely recommend to people and would definitely stay here again.

Property is beautiful with play structure for children, a pub right there with full menu restaurant. Staff were friendly and owner was welcoming. My room was number 12 so it's close to the bar and I could hear music (faintly) at night. However, my husband said he didn't hear anything.

Excellent weeks holiday at the Whitehouse Inn.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Whitehouse, Sunny the owner could not do enough for us and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Would not hesitate to return or reccomend to friends and family. The owner would accept that there is room for improvement which he has plans to do. Hopefully it will still stay great value for money.

Pub felt very tired and could do with a refurb. Staff were friendly and helpful on arrival. Room was comfortable enough. Wifi signal was good but was an unsecured connection so didnt use it. Breakfast was below average, wouldn't stay again.

Worth a stay
Stayed at the whitehouse for two nights with friends and family for the weekend. Very friendly and warm welcome rooms are comfortable breakfast was buffet style and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who kept extra toast and coffee coming. Will definitely stay again when in Cornwall

Nice size bedrooms, great food, no wifi and no internet to connect to on data. Some staff said the routers had been down for months. Makes life a little difficult when you are travelling not being able to connect to maps and local info.

Hotel in a great location to travel all around Cornwall. Rooms very nice and spacious and appeared recently refurbished with some minor repairs still ongoing. Two items needed addressing in the room which they did on request the same day.

Lovely 2 night stay at this hotel. The room was big, the bed was comfy, breakfast was great, the pub is very well kept if a little dated and the staff are brilliant. We didnt eat at the hotel other than breakfast but the menu looked good value. Would definitely stay here again

The rooms were tired and in need of a revamp but spotless and comfortable. Comfy beds. Lovely relaxed feel. Food very good and good value. Cheap and cheerful. Would recommend despite the need to redecorate and fit new bathrooms. Everything works
