"Convenient position with lovely views and parking "
As we parked the car, rang the bell there was a wonderful welcome, after a short chat we were shown to our room for the two night stay, we were very impressed with the room and everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was excellent. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had and nothing was too much trouble, I cannot find fault and I think we have found a jewel of bed and breakfasts, of course we shall stay there again, the location is good and there are places to eat in the evening within walking distance. If you're looking for a B & B in Bude I doubt you will find better !!

"Nice little place right by the beach"
W espent one night in this hotel. Our room was small but comfortable, the sheets and towels were clean, the bed was comfy. The room itself was tiny but in a good condition and came with a small bathroom of it's own which had a shower cabin. A great plus for me as the last place where I stayed only had a bathtub. The room also had a flat screen TV and a kettle. Neither the rooms or the hotel offers much luxury, but for having a place to sleep for a few nights it is perfect! There is a family friendly bar in the hallway, offering a good selection of food and beers. For the breakfast they offered both cooked breakfast ("cornish" breakfast consisting of egg, mushroom, sausage amd pork pudding) which was quite forgetable or a bufet with toast, cereals, yoghurt or small pastries. The hotel has some parking places of its own, but only very few and they are tight, making it pretty awkward to use if anyone else parked there as well. When we arrived it was full, but we used the long stay carpark next to it which we were told is free during the night until 9am. But the best part of this hotel is, it is right by the beach. You won't have a seaview, but it doesn't take a minute to get to the beach. I would gladly recommend this place for anyone.

"The Stay that Never Was"
We arrived at the hotel to find Expedia had made a mistake in the booking and there was not a room available. The host (Lee) was so gracious and helpful with getting us another room. (The White Hart Hotel-which is also lovely!) She called her local friends and found a room for us. Lee's daughter actually walked us to the new hotel to make sure we found it! What wonderful people! Thank you Lee! The hotel was a lovely house near the center of the small town. Very walkable from the train station. I would like to stay here if we ever pop through St Austells again to go to the Eden Project.

"Nice apartment at a reasonable price."
My wife and I are a young senior couple traveling from Canada to experience a little of the life in Cornwall. Rentallack was a good location to explore our points of interest like Port Isaak, Tantagel, Newquay and the Bodmin Moors. We found the self catering facilities to be quite satisfactory for the price. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness. Upon our arrival the unit appeared to be reasonably clean but we soon discovered dust and other dirt was being blown from under the bed and couch when the doors and windows were opened. Otherwise the accomodation was quiet and quite comfortable.

Pocket Guides: Independent Hotels in Cornwall

Cornwall is a unique place with its own strong identity. The natural beauty of the county, of which the locals are so proud, attract huge numbers of holidaymakers each year, and with good reason. The county boasts some of the UK's most awe-inspiring coastline and some of its prettiest fishing villages and stretches of countryside. The perfect way to take it all in is to book into one of the country's many independent hotels

    Embrace the Cornish Identity

The Cornish identity is a large part of what draws so many visitors to the county. Friendly, laid-back and welcoming, the feel of the county is embodied best in its independent hotels. Unconstrained by an external brand, independent hotels are free to offer guests the authentic Cornish experience. Guests can also speak with the knowledgeable staff members to learn about the best things to see and do in their area.

    Unique Buildings

Many independent hotels are housed in unique buildings, many of which fit perfectly into their surroundings, helping to tell the story of the environment. Molesworth Manor is one such hotel. The family-run bed and breakfast sits within an old rectory, on the edge of Padstow.

    Guest Houses in Newquay

Newquay is one of Cornwall's liveliest towns, and the epicentre of the UK's surf scene. Getting the most from the town is all about having access to local knowledge, which is most easily achieved by speaking to the staff of an independent hotel or guest house.

Local knowledge will help ensure you have a memorable trip. From knowing which local break is best at low tide with an offshore breeze, to knowing where the best DJs will be playing in town on a weekend evening, a bit of local know-how can be priceless.

    Relax in Rural Cornwall

Even away from the coast, Cornwall is full of natural beauty. The many rural hotels are ideal for visitors seeking some rest and relaxation. The Retallack Resort and Spa offers a peaceful location, as well as a whole host of relaxing spa facilities. There are also a number of excellent spa hotels in and around the south coast town of Falmouth.
