Beautiful view overlooking large lake, close to stores and restaurants and points of interest. Room was newer and charming, everything was very clean and newer linens made our stay very pleasant. We would very happy to return for another stay.

We needed a hotel for the solar eclipse that had a lawn with a western sky view. We found the Lake House that had that with a view over the lake as well, so we stayed for the eclipse that worked out perfectly. We had one pair of glasses that was defective but they lent us a welding mask that worked perfectly. The room was lake side and had a kitchen in the common area as well as a gas fireplace. We also had a dog that was welcome as well in our room. We liked the cleanliness, staff and every thing worked as it should and we highly recommend the Lake House.

First I would like to mention how friendly and nice the staff was from check in to check out!! We had a coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge just outside the room. The property is a little old but our room was spotless, bed was comfortable and was very nice. The property is beautiful with picnic tables, and grills. Beautiful lake!! The WIFI is extremely fast for streaming. We had a nice time and enjoyed our stay. I would stay again!!

We were pleased with this hotel room that had a great view of the lake. One light had a flicker but they came immediately and repaired it properly. Bathroom was spotless with newer fixtures and towels. The lake was very peaceful and beautiful. Property was on our way to Boston and we were treated very kindly.

Building looks newer or renovated from my last stay. Most rooms have new linens and are clean smelling and offered good value for the price. We stayed one night to make use of the lake. Facilities are clean and in working order. The location on the lake was great and we had a wonderful stay.

We went to the Lake House Lodge for Hockey weekend at the new Nexus center in Utica. Everything near Utica was booked so a team Mom told us about what a great stay she had at the Lake House. We had a room with 2 queen beds and a twin and the room was huge with a Lake view. Coffee available very early in the morning, we stayed 2 nights and had a great stay. Everyone was pleasant and helpful with directions in the area. We have already booked them for our next play off game in April. We are very pleased to find out they allow pets so our dog will be with us next time.

Extremely high speed internet for streaming. Here for the woman's finals in Ice Hockey at the Nexus center in Utica. We had a room with a gas fireplace which was spectacular. Building looks newly remolded fresh paint floors sanded, new carpets, new bedding, upgrades in the bath ,rooms had new carpets. We look forward to coming back later in the week for the hocky finals.

Stayed for the woman's world hockey play off games in Utica. My husband is disabled and we got a very close to handicap room. This is a really great place to stay, very close to the lake with spectacular views. Best place to stay for going to the Hockey play offs in Utica.

Rooms were clean smelling and offered good value for the price. We stayed for one night to make use of the lake for skiing and ice fishing during the spring break at school. The facilities were clean and in working order. There was much to do with the lake so close to the Lake House.

Gene was great and accommodating to my huge mistake on what city to stay in. Communication was awesome too. The floors are super slanted so be careful plus the common area is shared. The water pressure is a little lacking but the water was hot and did the job. We will definitely be back.

The Lake House has gorgeous views, is historic, and reminds me of an old-fashioned, rustic lodge. I imagine people going there as kids and bringing their kids back to share the experience and enjoy the water. I enjoyed a lovely dinner with a view of the lake. Once I got back from my trip, however, I noticed I was charged for that dinner twice - once, before tip - and again, with my generous tip. After exchanging multiple texts, I was assured they'd "look into it" and credit me for the pre-tip dinner, but nothing happened. That, unfortunately, left a bad taste in my mouth.

Dear Felicia, I'm sorry you were unhappy. As a last minute reservation, we placed you in the rooms that were available and there was not a request that they be together. Also, it is very clean here- saying it's not just is not true. Our lodge does accept pets but people who travel with their pets, treat their pets as family and they are well cared for. The Lakeview Hotel was very charming. The bed was very comfortable. I was in town for a concert which I parlayed with the Baseball Hall Of Fame. Getting a ride was rather trying but the staff came through for me.

Nice older Lodge in a beautiful lakeside location
We stayed 2 nights in July as a pit stop to Cooperstown. The owners Chris and Gene are wonderful. They are warm and attentive and make you feel at home. You feel like a part of their history while you are there. But Don’t expect a regular hotel, it’s more like an old bed and breakfast house experience. Complete with creaky floors and clutter. We were in a 3 room, 2 bed cabin by the water rather than in the main building, so our experience was somewhat different. It was an experience more like camping, than like a regular hotel room. The floor was warped, due to the building’s age. The rooms were tight, but beds were comfortable, and a decent sized bathroom with a basic prefab shower. There was a small window air conditioner which was strong enough to cool the room perfectly. I loved the unique experience, but my wife was not as enthusiastic. She’s paranoid when it comes to bugs, and was worried we might have a multi legged guest during the night. But it did not happen. We had to brush out some dead flies when we arrived, but that was expected due to the cabin’s location to the lake. I do not know what the rooms in the main house were like, so I can’t compare. I think next time we would stay there. I recommend eating at the on-site restaurant. You don’t have to travel to town, great staff, and the food is very good. And you can’t beat having dinner while watching the sun set over the lake! Overall, I would recommend the Lake House Hotel.

Save yourself, this place is dirty, small, and has bugs crawling around in the bathroom! The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows and sheets seemed like they were bought 30 year's ago. We paid for a cramped room at an extremely high rate. If I hadn't paid for a non-refundable room we would of gone somewhere else completely.

I was a bit nervous after seeing some bad reviews. Our room was clean. It looked just like the pictures. When you first come in it is not like a typical hotel, it is more like a camp. You are on a lake so a tiny bit musty smelling just as you come in but the rooms are not like that at all. Many books and games to use during your stay. Common areas on each floor with a full kitchen and dining space and porches on the 3rd floor. No elevators so look for a 1st floor room if that is an issue. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant has limited hours but the food was great. Hot coffee in the morning but no breakfast. Some diners up the street close by though, Cassidy’s was very good. This is not a fancy area. If that is what you are looking for go to Cooperstown. This is quiet, affordable and quaint. 20 minute drive to Cooperstown and Milford.

Cute but old
This is a very cute place to stay on the lake. It is a very old hotel but was clean. Our room was small but that was ok. The floor, due to the buildings age, had a very bad slant. The old bed cover needs to be replaced. We did not eat there so we have no comment on service. We did not have any interaction with staff or other guests.

Our building was built in 1843 so it is old and certainly not like the cookie cutter hotel rooms built these days. Unlike today that we spend so much time in our bedrooms, bedrooms built in the 1800's are much smaller than we are used to. Thanks for staying with us. We appreciate your business.

Not many places like this left in America. Not a Thruway Hotel, but rather a classic, rustic inn. Fun for that reason (and there was a band playing on the patio that night). Thin walls, you can hear the next room.

The property is rundown and in need of an overhaul. The front sign has cobwebs and the front hallway is cluttered with random objects, like a broken piano and exercise bike. We had not been informed that our room was on the top floor, up two flights of stairs. The room itself was cramped, with poor lighting and few outlets. There was minimal hot water when we showered in the morning. We had asked if there was a refrigerator in the room and informed there was none. However, we were not told that there was a large working refrigerator in the common area right outside our room. The room was not straightened up when we left and the bed was not made. However, there was a sign in the room giving us directions on gratuities. There was a nice restaurant and we enjoyed our dinner. The overall impression is that the owners are not putting in much effort in the area of upkeep and modernization. We will not be back.

Sadly, there was no breakfast like the listing advertised, but the rooms were great, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area and I had a lovely time sipping my coffee by the lake. Also, this review isn't paid. A lot of the bad reviews seem to have not been prepared for a rustic lake setting. This isn't a Hilton, but it's quite unique and enjoyable.

If you are looking for a quiet and different experience from a large chain hotel, then this could be the place for you. It is a very unique and charming experience if you appreciate a more rustic and homey vibe. It is super quiet and peaceful at night and offers a great morning experience outside overlooking the lake. I enjoyed it. I would definitely be back and would highly recommend this place, if this is what you are looking for. I am looking forward to eating dinner one night in the restaurant, while watching the sunset. We spent most of our time in Cooperstown, which is a 20 minute drive that we also enjoyed. It is a TOTAL change of pace from the city life and was EXACTLY what we were looking for. It might not be the place for everyone, especially those who may not appreciate the non-traditional setting and accommodations, but for me and my girlfriend, it was PERFECT. Will be back with friends who are also looking to get away from the noisy and super busy city life.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY -The listing pictures are not at all correct. Classic bait and switch . This property is in rough shape and the listing is not accurate. Was in the area for cooperstown week baseball and unfortunately I felt like I put my family in a terrible situation. We were put in a bedroom that did not have a bathroom and the listing says private bathrooms in every room. MAKE SURE YOU GET TRAVEL INSURANCE or you wont get money back. Expedia did nothing even when when talking to management . Owner kept saying he would refund but then ghosted me. We litteraly were there for 20 min and had to grab luggage and get out of there as fast as possible. All reviews seem to be paid but if you sort through those you will find the real reviews. Will no longer book on expedia because of this.

Room was Musty smelled like cooking Grease. Outside our door was oven that was not clean and can see grease from the cooking on door. Paid ahead of time so not able to get money back for 6 other nights we had booked. Ended up booking another hotel. The property has so much potential to be great just needs a lot of tender loving care that not getting. The pictures of place are obviously older and don’t represent what looks like now.

Built in the 1800’s, and last renovated in the 1800’s. Property littered with rotting boats and old unused appliances. Many of the wooden stairs had rotting wood and brittle handrails. I can’t believe code enforcement hasn’t intervened.

This is an unique property that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into a quieter simpler time. The property is beautiful and the rooms were very clean. Easiest check-in and check-put ever. Our only complaint is that the rooms are cooled with window unit air conditioning that simply does not cool enough.

Very accommodating and professional staff. They really strive to make you, the guest, feel at home. We could not get the air-conditioner to work, they helped us get the right settings within 15 minutes of calling. We selected the lodge since they were pet friendly. Our dog loved being down by the lake jumping in and out of the water. The location on the lake is beautiful. Would definitely stay here again !

It is in a great location right on the water. There was no breakfast provided. There was a coffee pot but no coffee. Dishes, pots and pans but you had to provide your own food. Rooms could use a deep cleaning. A/c worked great.

Nice older Lodge in a beautiful location along the lake. Rooms although outdated, are very clean and well kept. Great location with beautiful scenery. 20 mins from the main downtown area of Cooperstown. In Summary, Nice stay. Friendly staff. Beautiful location.
