Great Rental Car Drives in the Vaudois Alps
Book a hire car, and head off on a driving adventure, discovering the Vaudois Alps. Drive between the major ski resorts of Château-d’Oex, Leysin, Les Diablerets and Villars, and take in some of the finest mountain scenery in all of Switzerland. Pack a lunch or plan a stop at a hut en route and drive along the Col du Pillon mountain pass, which connects Les Diablerets and the exclusive resort of Gstaad. At 4,700 feet up, the Col des Mosses has some James-Bond style switchbacks as it travels between Aigle and Château-d’Oex. If you’d rather stay off mountain passes, the waterfront drive between Montreux and Lausanne on the northern shore of Lake Geneva is a highlight not to be missed.
Driving in Switzerland’s Vaudois Alps
If you hire a rental car in Vaudois, you have the freedom to explore the region at your leisure. Like the rest of mainland Europe, Switzerland drives on the right, so give yourself some time to adjust before heading off into the hinterland. You’ll find the road network to be of a very high quality but bear in mind you may need snow chains in winter or poor weather conditions.
