I recently stayed at your hotel in Cologne, which is reputed to be a premium accommodation option in the heart of the city. Expecting a comfortable and hassle-free experience, especially given the high cost of the stay, I was profoundly disappointed by several critical issues, most notably the absence of hot water on my last day. This was not just an inconvenience but a significant oversight, as it directly impacted my comfort and readiness for a long-haul flight to Toronto. The lack of a basic amenity like hot water, especially in a leading hotel situated in a developed and bustling city center, is unacceptable. It suggests a severe lapse in the hotel’s maintenance and contingency planning for essential services. Additionally, the situation was exacerbated by what I perceived as a lack of empathy and effective response from the customer service team, leaving me feeling disregarded and undervalued as a guest. Such experiences not only tarnish the reputation of your establishment but also discourage loyal customers from considering your hotel for future stays. It is distressing to see that despite the high costs associated with staying at your hotel, the basic expectations of comfort and service are not met. I am compelled to share my experience with others, highlighting the need for significant improvements in both infrastructure and customer service at your hotel. I hope my feedback will be taken seriously and prompt the necessary actions to prevent such incidents.

Excellent accommodation and welcoming staff
Have stayed previously at the Lyskirchen and really enjoyable short stay this time. Accommodation ready on arrival and offered excellent room. Very comfortable and clean and staff very welcoming and helpful. This is now a default place to stay when visiting family (including newly born grandson!) in Cologne.

Great hotel, modern and clean
The hotel is lovely, modern and clean with very helpful staff. The added bonus of the hotel having a garage was a big plus to us. A simple check in which is great and we headed to the room which was one of the suites in the neighbouring building. Stunning large room with the added c Bonus of a little balancing.

The room had black marks on the wall and had slanting walls which i banged my head hard against. The hotel wasn’t in the best condition and was quite far out of the city. Shower was in the room no privacy if staying with a friend. No water, but they were selling water at the hotel for 4euros!

Conviently located hotel for Altmarket and Rhine
Conviently located hotel very near the Rhine, an easy walk from the Heumarkt U bahn stop which is a short ride from the Hauptbahnhof the ride is included in your rail ticket if you have arrived at Hbf via Train. The breakfast was good with a wide range of good quality items and good coffee. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were most helpful and friendly.

Staff are nice and helpful. Not particularly clean just acceptable I stayed there only for one night but the cleaning staff knocked my door at 930 while I was still sleeping. Also, the checkout time is noon but I did not manage to open my door after 1130. Luckily there was a staff right outside my room. That’s something the hotel can improve.

The property is located in a walkable tourist area near major attractions (e.g., museums and historical landmarks) and is well-priced compared to competing hotels. There are also traditional German restaurants nearby. The only issues are the loud streets, no onsite laundry, and the all-you-can-eat breakfast is absurdly priced. Overall, excellent stay.

It was very nice as I had hoped
The hotel was on very good condition. I would definitely give it a 4 star. My wing seemed more updated, but the rooms in both were very nice. For one person, it is great. For two, make sure you know the person since the bathroom is wide open with glass walls (and curtain if you see it). People were very nice. I would stay here again.

AVOID THIS HOTEL
Avoid this place. Terrible experience. I have no clue why it is rated as it is. I stay in a hotel most weeks for business but this one just topped my list for places never to stay again. The Receptionist was probably the rudest person I have ever met with an attitude that was just horrible. I hadnt even checked in and everything was an issue. Cons The pool area was so dirty that I felt I needed a couple of showers after the Leisure centre. Disgusting ! Shower broken in room Receptionists attitude on check in - Making me pay up front and then with a terrible attitude when I asked to see a bill before I paid for parking, tax and room rate . When is it not OK to ask to see a bill first!! shake your head all you want sir ! Breakfast was limited and the hot food was cold ! ! Even the pancakes for my kids were on cold plate! The room when we checked in was freezing as it was -1 outside and housekeeping seemed to have left the window open Shower gel in the shower was just water... Pillow were just made up of air with nothing inside and nothing to sleep on. I'm just shocked that this place has any customers at all with customer service an all time low for me. Pros Room was a decent size Location of the hotel is good. I would really like it if you transferred my money back to 167 euro for one night of this service not acceptable. Thanks

Fabulous stay!!
We had a fabulous stay. The hotel is lovely and quiet, with extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Very convenient for the Christmas market by the the river, and only a fifteen minute walk to the heart of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel!!

Lovely little place, would stay again
All very clean and nice. TV remote was the only gripe.. it was filthy from years of use. Breakfast was nice. Location is fantastic, down a quiet little road, but close enough to Christmas markets, museum and rail links. Staff were very nice and accomodsting. Pool is a bit chilly, but I suspect the heat has been turned down during this energy crisis. We would stay here again.
