    Not shabby-chic, just shabby.

Take a look at the photos I posted. This place has everything you need to experience halfway house comfort at a premium price: cheap plastic furniture, grime, and an institutionalized vibe. Heating worked, couldn’t turn it down or off. This place is perfect for pore health — a real sweat box. Lumpy pillow and sagging mattress for added character. Prefer a cooler temperature? Open the street level window for fresh air or to let in random drunks and cigarette smoke from the nightclub next door (a popular club, opens10pm until 5 am, they’ll play any music with a solid beat, no charge for hotel guests to enjoy the club’s bass speaker system — bass/midrange is loud and plentiful, and nicely transmits through the wall as you lay in bed thinking “never again” thoughts. I recommend paying the cover charge though if you are looking for treble.) Back to that window - at street level - you are looking at shoes and kneecaps. No safety bars or security system. Scuff marks on the hotel wall show that it’s been used in the past as a quick entrance/exit crawl from the hotel to the club entrance just a few feet away. If you don’t sleep, like to party, would rather crawl through a window than use a door, then you’ve found your own little slice of paradise - enjoy. Each loft is big enough to hold as many new club friends as you can convince to crawl through the window. Broke the furniture? No problem, head to the dollar store, and get them a couple new plastic chairs.

    Theme Hotel: IKEA meets disaster.

The room was very spartan and uncomfortable. A huge space with huge potential but little effort. A tiny rail with 4 hangers for clothes and no shelves or drawers. A cold and hard vinyl couch that looked like it came from the lobby of an office building. A tiny table and plastic chairs That weren’t even suitable as garden furniture. The bed was placed under a draughty skylight so I woke up with a sore throat from the chill. The reception is poorly managed and the security is non existent. I was told that after 11pm access was through the back of the adjoining business car park. I walked through all kinds of debris and trash at 2am to find the back door to the “hotel” wedged wide open and a cold wind blowing right through the corridor. It was strange that pop music was playing on speakers in the corridor 24/7. It gave the place the feeling of a different class of boarding house. This is a strange kind of DIY hotel. It looks half finished but the other half is already showing signs of wear abd tear. I wonder if it would pass a regulation inspection.

    Slow check-in.

Check in takes an age due to the silly form you have to fill out with all your details from your passport, even though they take a copy of your passport which has all the details on already..... pointless and was checking in for over 20mins. The rooms look a lot better in the pictures, but in reality they are a little bodged, with cables hanging everywhere and our sofa was very uncomfortable. Poor lighting in the rooms too, could do with a few lamps.

Nice idea: old factory rebuild into lofts apartments and filled with fake design-furniture. Badly done though: cheaply refurbished, unsealed floorboards, curtains not covering while window (and that on ground floor). Not well maintained either: walls dirty, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, ... rooms are all ground floor, adjacent to a night club to one side and a parking lot with smoking stands for office people to the other...

    Pros: Cheap

    Cons: Maintenance!

Location: Nightclub right next door. An Aldi and a Netto Discount as neighbours. It’s an old industrial area: graffiti to one side, new appartments to the other
