Great location! Right next to the White House and National Mall. Clean hotel, great service. It was my birthday so they gave me a surprise bottle of wine in my room. Cons: 1) elevators are small and slow (this is an old hotel that’s been remodeled but the elevators are original I think) and 2) the wait to get a seat or order take out at the hotel restaurant is long and I was not immediately greeted by a host. Ultimately, I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it.

For $700 a night, we got a small room facing an interior courtyard. In the bathroom, no robes and one (!) plastic glass wrapped in plastic. Holiday Inn at least gives you two glasses! Location is great, so stay at the Willard instead!
