The hotel is situated in the University grounds, but secluded so no noise. Post code of hotel brings you in from one side which has limited access and badly signposed.
Hotel is very clean and tidy. Staff are very helpful and eager to assist.
Parking is limited close to the hotel.
The staff were very welcoming, cheerful and efficient. The hotel is in a good location for the town.
Supper menu looked good but we ate out in town. There are loads of eateries/restaurants close to the hotel.

Once arrived at the grefriars hotel, great private parking. And the hotel team were second to none with their greetings and friendliness. This was booked for my wifes birthday and the experience will stay with us for a long time. The hotel team even brought to our room a cake and champaigne was awaiting us when we got to the room.
We ate in the rose room which was a little quieter and cosier than the main dining area which made it even more special. The 3 course meal that we chose was out of this world. The bedroom a was a junior suite with a great bathroom with a double shower area and a bath twin sinks. The bed was king size and very comfortable. We cannot fault anything about our stay at the greyfriars. We will be booking again for those special occassions
"Great hotel accessible to everything in Colchester"
Staff was uber helpful and kind. Hotel was smack dab in the middle of everything with a taxi stand and bus stops right outside and an entire shopping center just a turn to the right. Great place! Perfect for visiting Colchester.

Owners very pleasant and helpful. Room a little small but clean and presented very well, Meals are pub quality but have fantastic staff. Price was about right for the area. There are other places to eat within walking distance. I would stay there again
Hotel only been open 5 weeks so still some teething problems but nothing serious. Nicely decorated and staff very friendly and helpful. Ideally situated for shopping in Colchester town centre and close to university for family visits. Be aware of the very narrow entrance to the rear carpark - fold your wing mirrors in!
