The owner was very welcoming and friendly and took trouble to ensure our stay was comfortable. Do not be put off by his querky sense of humour! The swimming pool beside the lovely garden was a nice place to relax at the end of the day. It is a very quiet location out amongst the vineyards, but only a ten minute drive from the centre of Cognac. The breakfast is very good and the room lovely.

We loved sitting out by the pool and watching the swallows flying around. Very peaceful setting and no more than 10 minutes to Cognac. Books to read in room was pleasant surprise.

What a lovely place to stay
We had a great stay at La Closerie. The room was large, bed comfortable and beautifully clean. The breakfasts were amazing. So much to eat and wonderfully presented. Overall, a lovely place to stay and we were made very welcome.

French accommodation at its best
Couldn't fault our stay, beautiful location (although a little difficult to find, even with satnav. Accommodation was perfect. Very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. Although there was no air con, we still had good night's sleep as rooms were cool, being stone built. Also enjoyed an excellent continental breakfast which was a bonus. Very hot and sunny when we arrived so another bonus was a swimming pool, although not very big it was lovely to have a dip and cool off. Secure parking on the premises was also welcoming.

charming and refined oasis
Sylvie and Jacques have created a charming, refined oasis in rural france. Their website photos cannot convey the serene location, nor the full pleasure of plunging into the delightful pool on a hot summer afternoon. And relaxing with a fine bottle of red as the heat mellowed [but you'd better call at a supermarket on the way there to stock up on your favourite tipple] The room we stayed in was clean, spacious and fully equipped. Sylvie and Jacgues were attentive without being intrusive, and our limited abilities to communicate in pidgin french/ english did not impede lively and good humoured hand waving banter. And do not miss the amazing breakfast; bottomless pot of coffee, freshly baked croissant and brioche, home-made preserves, and straight from the oven biscuits.
