The Hotel was amazing. Friendly reception. On arrival we were given a free up grade to an apartment which was amazing. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was exceptionally clean Food Great. Pool was warm and clean. we couldn't ask for more. Cant wait to go back.

Great Lakes Location
Very friendly staff. Pleasant check in with complimentary hot drink and cakes. Nice little restaurant and bar area. Lovely breakfast and plenty of choice.

Comfortable self catering unit
3 day stay at Embleton Spa at end of August 23. Stayed in Skiddaw apartment - 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self catering unit. Breakfast included. Good - great kitchen, tasty breakfast and dinners (we ate 2 dinners at the hotel) Spa - pool good, but tried to book treatments, and spa therapist never responded to calls. Room - spacious. Indoors nice, cleanliness acceptable. Outdoor - Large outdoor area, but this was quite filthy - did not seem to have been cleaned in past few weeks. Parking - ample parking at hotel at no additional charges.

Lovely weekend stay
Lovely weekend stay with my mum. She really appreciated the break and it was a lovely place to stay. We didn’t make use of the pool in the end but we had a lovely stay. The restaurant food was fantastic and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Brilliant location, we did two fabulous walks straight from the hotel. You have to be patient when crossing the busy A66. The staff were lovely, especially Ali. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. And the restaurant food and service was great. There was a sense that this hotel was a part of the local community. We had a swim in the pool, which was a bonus. Yet this area and the outside hot tub area needed a bit of TLC. Our room was a little double room, it was very clean and fresh, and had fabulous views. Overall good value for money, and i wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely little find!
Lovely views, cosy rooms and great food! All the staff were great. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Dog treats in room, which was a lovley extra. Beds comfy enough but the room was incredibly hot even with the small fan that was in the room, on full. Couldnt open the window as the door rattled like mad. 'Spa' area definitely needs some TLC felt a little grubby. No Guest towels by the pool or robes in the room, which was a little disappointing. Probably could haave asked for extra if we had known.Pool times for guests are quite restricted. That being said its free to use for guest, which is probably one of the last hotels that does this in the lakes! I would stay again.

The staff were lovely and helpful, the breakfast was a great start to the day. Amazing views from hotel. Good location to explore area. The swimming pool area that isn't owned or managed by hotel operator was disappointing it wasn't very clean and very dated - feel sorry for Ali as this area has unfortunately resulted in poor reviews that don't reflect the overall experience of what Ali is achieving.

Lovely apartment (separate lounge / kitchen, bedroom and bathroom) in traditional style. Friendly staff and nice location - although a little way from other pubs, etc. Nice swimming pool and good restaurant

Great little hotel in the lakes, nice rooms, good food and not too expensive. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay again.

What a location, what a place, wonderful staff
This stay was amazing. A family break for my wife’s birthday. The location and accommodation is amazing and the all the staff and service was simply wonderful. A special shout out to Mags on reception, a very warm and friendly welcome. Thoroughly recommended. Also worth noting that you can take your dogs if you have want to! I don’t have any, just thought it was worth the mention. Absolutely amazing cooked breakfast, we will be returning. Thank you so much. Well done to all the staff. We loved it

Fab overnight stay
Easy to find and park. Really friendly welcome, room was lovely, food was fantastic. Loved the offer of complimentary tea/coffee & cake on arrival. Nice touch and cakes were lovely. It was ok, don't think i'll be staying there again. You had to book for the swimming pool the sunna wasn't working . The hotel could do with refurb. Not a very good selection of evening meals. Breakfast ok. The room that we stayed in was ok had to go on patio to see view of mountains , when i booked it said view of mountains which was very disappointing cause it wasn't.

Warm welcome & pleasant staff - great advertising!
First, the staff. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by warm smiles, we were there for a 3 night stay and not a single staff member showed a sign of being unhappy in their work. We think this speaks highly of Alistair & Jo, who clearly run a happy ship! The staff were friendly, efficient and unflustered. Far too few hotels in our experience, can share this boast! Our allocated apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Everything about the shower, wc, lounge and bedroom was lovely although I didn't care much for the metal headboard which I found uncomfortable whilst sitting up to read or watch TV - minor irritation and I couldn't work out how to use the oven in the kitchen - but didn't really need this anyway! The food served in the restaurant was excellent and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast. The hotel is perfectly located 2 miles from Cockermouth and 9 miles from Keswick and ideal for hillwalkers, owners who love to exercise their dogs, ramblers or even the infirm who simply enjoy the scenery that is right there, in front of this really nice hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here - but everybody i different!

A Little Gem
Just an overnight stay on this occasion. Easy check-in. Room was situated overlooking the beautiful Lakes scenery. BThroom was a little cramped but quite functional. Bed was comfortable. Evening meal was excellent. We'll be staying again!

Disappointed spa break
Booked for my partners 60th birthday as a spa break, no spa treatment room on site if wanting treatments had to book with a private company who would come to the bedroom which was on the small side, the view looked onto the bins on the side of the hotel could only use the swimming pool at certain times of the day as it was used for swimming lessons for a different company, no light meals served throughout the day. The room we stayed in had paper thin walls no sleep for two nights as could hear the snoring from next door, creaking floorboards from upstairs, the whole experience was very disappointing, not the spa hotel experience I was expecting. Children and dogs over taking the place definitely not relaxing.
