Lovely, well maintained hotel, pool and gardens . The staff committed , knowledgeable and friendly. Dinners in the History restaurant were without exception delicious, especially the First Class Railway Mutton Curry which was outstanding. These were preceded by a visit to the bar, over which knowledgeable barmen preside. All in all, a wonderful stay and the next door ferry was never a problem for us, indeed we think we will miss the throbbing motor which we found quite comforting.

We were greeted with flowers, a wet towel and juice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The area was close to local sites. Lots of seating if you can't go out and want to stay in the hotel. Pool was well maintained and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great stay! Service staff is simply top notch. Very welcoming staff. Architecture of the building is astounding on how they have a recreated old world charm with new world amenities. Another highlight are the restaurants at the location. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful hotel, great service. Helpful staff. Nice pool, the restaurant in the hotel was delicious. There are a lot of free activities inside the hotel.. cooking class, surest sailing, Joga.. We had a great experience.

Superior service at a beautiful hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and made to order with buffet-like options: fresh fruit, pastries, juice. The coffee was amazing.

This hotel is beautiful and any criticism I have of my stay is outside of the control of the hotel. It was late into the pandemic and the hotel did not have a liquor license, so there was no way to have wine with dinner. There were few other guests and no one coming to the restaurants, so it felt very deserted. If you are coming here for the area, note that it is quite far from the beach tourist area and in a fairly busy place. The only thing that I would change is to put larger area rugs and a more comfortable sofa in our room. We took the suite and it had mostly bare, tiled floors, which was surprisingly cold, seeing how hot it was outside. The staff at this hotel are lovely and eager to please. If I had to come back to this area, I would consider staying here again.

A hotel reflecting the history of Fort Kochi
This hotel came as a recommendation from family living in Cochin. We were recommended to stay here or at ANY CGH location so the bar was set high and Brunton Boatyard delivered! The service was amazing from the time we arrived to the time we left. You can see how the reception, the chefs, the waiters and all the staff work together to take care of you and personalize your stay. The restored building kept the colonial style and architecture while being balanced with modern comforts. We manage to catch tea followed by a sunset cruise which was a nice touch. We had dinner there as well. The menu was huge and we were only able to sample a bit of it along with some interesting house cocktails. We didn't get a chance to get into the pool but it looked super inviting, especially with the hot weather (even in December). Overall, would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Fort Kochi. We only had a night there and wish we could have stayed more.

Brunton's Boatyard has a wonderful atmosphere of history, grandeur and beauty, with the added dimension of being right on the foreshore of a working harbour. The free activities including a harbour cruise every evening were most welcome and the staff so friendly. We enjoyed the pool, the friendly, professional service, the quality food, the environmental sustainability of course, as this was the reason for the booking! No request was too much or to little. It was a joy to stay here again and I highly recommend it. We loved the ferries coming in and out and the easy walking distances to explore Fort Kochi.

Lovely colonial style rooms!
The colonial style rooms and the crazy comfy bed had as sold at “hello”. The food was amazing and they service spot on!!

Only if you really need to spend a night in Kochi.
Nice colonial building with small pool overlooking the bay. Spacious rooms but very noisy because of ferry sirens and birds.

Superb experience.lovely ambiance very good food and excellent staff.should not miss the complimentary sun set boat ride.history of kochi is told by different portraits and the painting of vasa go dama is outstanding.actually a note on all the historic paintings can be placed in the room.

Lovely property
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel property. It is located within walking distance to the town. The staff was friendly and courteous. Their restaurants served great food. If anything I would simply warn about the loud noise given it’s next to the ferry. Started about seven am. With the water activity it can get noisy given boats are ferrying. It’s very minor. Just thought I’d mention it so you’d be aware. Lovely property I recommend.

Best Place to stay in Fort Kochi
If you want old world charm with all the modern luxuries, this is the place. Located right on the main shipping channel getting into Kochi port, this hotel is walking distance from all Kochi attractions. the rooms are nice and spacious, bathrooms big and airy. the break fast is also pretty good mix of Indian and continental, the quality of bacon is pathetic. Staff is very courteous and polite. Its expensive but worth it. I have had some experiences, not bad but show lack of training of the staff : - at breakfast, they get you the eggs. No toast or butter inspite of ordering alog with the egg. Then toast and then butter. all in all 15 minutes between the egg and toast and butter. Egg gets cold. toast gets cold - you order a drink in the bar. they get your drink to your table and disappear. No ice is served. One has to walk to the bar and get ice. Everybody disappears. don't know why. - I booked a taxi to drop me to the airport. next day, just to recheck I ask the front desk about my booking. they are clue less. they say there is no handover register. they book the cab again. cant depend on the instructing once. needs to be checked and followed up. - if you are staying in twin bedded non sea facing room, be ready to stink up as they get all their garbage and line it up right below these rooms. don't take these rooms. - get better quality of soap. the soap crumbles in your hands its difficult to shower with pieces of soap.

A unique boutique Kerala experience

I just love old colonial hotels and Brunton Boatyard was no exception. The rooms are wonderful - high ceiling, elevated post bed that was super comfortable and a the large bath tub. I would definitely come back for another visit. Just one suggestion, though, replace the art works scattered throughout the hotel with old black and white photos of the era.

We loved our stay - character and class
Fantastic hotel in the heart of Kochin. The complementary bikes were great which meant we could explore Kochin at our leisure. The staff were excellent and answered all our queries and helped book our taxi to our next stop in Kerala. The food was excellent and the complementary cooking demo and sunset cruise were also a delight. Big rooms with lovely views of the pool and the water/bay/sea. Top marks.

Sanctuary amongst chaos and filth
The hotel is beautiful and the restarant is excellent. They do not serve alcohol on a tuesday due to a state goveernemnt dry day. Fort Cochin itself is filthy. Vrery depressing to walk around looking at the environment.

Lovely Hotel
The Brunton boat yard is a lovely hotel. Unfortunately it is set iamongst a rubbish tip. Fort cochin is filthy. The beach is covered in rubbish and so are the streets. This hotel is a sanctuary to escape from the surrounding filth.

Our second stay at this hotel and it was as lovely as the first time. Brunton Boatyard transports you back to another time. Attention to detail is impressive and staff are friendly and helpful. We will be back.

A refined experience
Brunton Boatyard defies comparison. Just as described, it is more of an 'experience' than a hotel. The place oozes refinement and style. Staff is excellent and the food is delicious. The only possible drawback is the noise from the harbour, but this quiets down at night. Also, the pool area is a gathering spot for large birds but they don't seem aggressive.

Attentive Staff
While staying at the Brunton Boatyard, we discovered that we needed help getting to our next destination. The staff helped us buy train tickets and get to the station. They even arranged to have the taxi driver walk us to the right platform, saving us quite a bit of stress. They went above and beyond to help us with something which really wasn't their problem.

Just perfect in every way
The personal touches - we had a wonderfully special and private anniversary meal laid on by the head chef, alongside the great service made our stay just perfect. Brunton Boatyard excelled our dreams and we enjoyed superb views and a calming atmosphere. I loved the communal tip box. In fact I loved everything about this hotel. We really hope to go again very very soon. Thank you
