Beautiful location with very welcoming hosts

Posted 20-Jul-2016
Pros: The whole house was beautiful and lovingly laid out and the surroundings were stunning. Our hosts were also incredibly welcoming and attentive.
Location: Near to the Roman city of Chester & many beautiful historical buildings (including Denbigh, Rhuddlan and Chirk castles, as well as Vale Crucis Abbey).
Found this lovely B and B while visiting north Wales/Chester area and was delighted with the location as well as the hosts and thier hospitality. Barbara couldn't do enough for us and both her and NIck were full of recommendations for where to visit, eat and go sightseeing. We even had dinner with them and went to the local pub for a drink one evening!

A warm couple

Barbara and Nick were fantastic. The bed and breakfast felt like it was home. They spent time in the evenings talking to us and finding out what we did. The full English breakfast was lovely too. If you love walks and History, there is some stuff to see around the village.

Home from home

Barbara and Nick, the owners, are very friendly and welcome you into their home. They invited us to join them for dinner and asked only that we make a donation. We already support our local women's refuge and Barbara suggested we make our donation to that cause (and not one of their own). Very nice stay in beautiful surroundings.

Barbara & Nick were very friendly & extremely helpful during our visit, we couldn't have asked for more. Song of the River is in a beautiful location, extremely peaceful & great to just relax. Would definitely recommend & hope to revisit one day.
