Close proximity to just about everything, this quiet spot in pacific heights is a great place to take SF at a leisurely house, while getting a sense of the architectural and artistic styles in the city at the turn of the last century. and the staff was supper friendly and helpful, arranging everything we needed!

The hotel is a cozy old building that has seen its best years and now lacks adequate facilities, as everything in it is small, including its elevator, its rooms, its services and its services. The advantage is its central location and next to SF's cultural venues and its generous breakfast consisting of fresh fruit and boiled eggs.
Overall, my experience was of an OK hotel limited in services due to its old age.

Cost was a consideration in my choice and I was a little apprehensive about how the hotel would work out. They put me in a ground floor room looking out on a very nice Japanese garden. Cool. Great bed, large room, 3 tvs, great shower room with a separate soaking tub. I didn't get a chance to try the food but would highly recommend the property!

Clean, nice, pet friendly hotel in Japantown. Small (30 spaces) parking garage available for extra $$. Staff was great - suggested restaurants, experiences, etc... They seemed to know some of the guests by name.

I enjoyed my stay and would probably do so again however the rooms are in need of some refreshing. A lot can be
accomplished with a paint job and a thorough cleaning of the carpets. Was originally assigned to a second floor room with king size bed that was not worth the price, due to the size and condition of the furniture. In addition to a musty odor, the caulking in the shower was extremely moldy. Upgraded to a larger, superior room which was much more pleasant and well maintained. I would stay here again but only in one of the larger rooms.
