Great stay before travel to cinque Terre
Nice hotel close to restaurantes and bus stop not far from spezia to take the train to cinque Terre We drove from vertibo to this location and The views are amazing and is locate Great service and the people that works there are really nice and helpful They speak English and Spanish too We love it Please administration make sure the address is right on the hotels.com app

I had to leave because room above was leaking all over my bathroom and management did nothing. They knew in advance it was leaking and still rented the room

Friendly and helpful staff at check-in. No apparent lift so could be a problem for disabled. Average sized clean room with desk and average bathroom space. Note hotel is somewhat distant from La Spezia or other attractions. Continental breakfast slightly above average with friendly staff.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Although it may not have been a fancy hotel with all sorts of conveniences, the treatment we received and helpfulness of the staff was great and will certainly attract us back again if we are in this area.

Pleasant five night stay
We had a five night stay here in early April and enjoyed our time. Pluses were the free onsite parking that never was crowded, free wifi and free breakfast. Rooms were basic but clean and heat and A/C worked well. We were hoping the restaurant would have been open as even though it is a short drive down to La Spezia, the parking situations at restaurants is non-existent. There are a couple of places to walk to from this hotel but hours are flexible and not posted so some evenings we were out of luck. Would recommend this as a good location when visiting Cinque Terre as the train stations is just 10 minutes away.

Good location for city lights
We were treated really well by the front desk. Stored our luggage and it was in our room when we got back. Good location for city views. Decent fun restaurant x the street. Entertaining wild sheep next door.

Good option for a stop in cinque terre
Overall expensive region. So was an acceptable price. Shower could have been better but other than that all good.

Perfect stop when going to see Cinque Terre
We stayed at Hotel Nella in La Spezia as a "home base" while spending time in CInque Terre. The train station is only about 10 minutes away from the hotel and is a great way to go in seeing CInque Terre. At the train station get A CInque Terre Card for 1 day or 2 days and you can travel by train as much as you please. The hotel was nice. Breakfast was excellent. Daniel was exceptional in how he helped us. The room was plain and the bed was only average in terms of comfort. This hotel works great as a base from which to visit Cinque Terre.

Great hotel for price
The receptionist was very helpful and explained to us how best to get to cinque terre. The room was simple, the bed and blankets not the most comfortable but the price was just fine. Breakfast is certainly reasonable We ate in the evenings at a local restaurant opposite the hotel on the recommendation of the receptionist and the food there was amazing. Though the waitress did not know how to speak English.

I liked that it was outside of the city for a less touristy feel. The owner was very hospitable and even helped carry our luggages to our room! He advised us well on how to tour the 5 Terre.

Super hotel in a great location and superb staff
Perched on to of a hill in a a tiny hamlet above La Spezia, the views out across the valley from the hotel balcony were spectacular. There is a small pizzeria/bar across the road and a restaurant next to the hotel. Everything we needed at the end of the hard day's driving. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly - even helping us to find an English speaking vet as we needed official health certification stamped into our dog's passport. The breakfast was splendid served in a very pretty breakfast room. I would definitely stay there again it was a great overnight stay..

Very good hotel near La Spezia
We stayed here for 3 nights as we explored the costal towns in Tuscany. Very convenient location and wonderful facilities. We also found the hotel restaurant to be an inexpensive option for dinner that was very good.

Charming and well-run family-owned hotel
This is a charming, well-run, and beautiful hotel in the hills above La Spezia. Manager Daniele and his staff do everything possible to ensure a pleasant stay. I recommend this hotel with great pleasure and confidence that other travelers will find it delightful.

Nice hotel in a quiet area
The hotel is far from the La Spezia. You will need a car to get there. There is a free parking lot across the street. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They gave us a lot of info and suggestions how to organize our Cinque Terre visit. The breakfast was very good, a lot of choices, exelent presentation and taste. There is a restaurant next door that serves dishes one must try. Prices are affordable. The staff - again exelent. Overall we had a very good experiance with Nella hotel.

Stayed two nights so we could tour Cinque Terre. Nice location, really liked the rooms, the dining room, breakfast was awesome, had dinner there, delicious, free parking, second floor patio where we could relax and unwind after Cinque Terre. Only thing we didn't like was there was no elevator, but a minor problem for us.

Must be especially nice in the heat of the summer to be up in the hills above La Spezia. Handy parking (with code to get in and out) just opposite the hotel. Very friendly service.

Didn't like: long, steep, winding road 4 km from town, headboard placed in such a way that it's hard not to hit your head, smell of room (odd cleaner?) Map to free parking was hard to follow, but appreciated.

Lovely Stay with Some Caveats
In general we enjoyed our stay at hotel Nella. The pastoral surroundings, the cool air and the porch access were very enjoyable. The personal hygiene products provided were of better quality than most girls. Breakfast was nice, and all the staff we encountered were helpful. There were a few details that made the stay a little less enjoyable: 1. The corridor leading to our room had a bad, sewage like odor. There was no smell in the room. 2. The WiFi reception was patchy in the room. 3. The shower was a bit crowded and awkward. 4. The opening besides the entrance door in the room was a door with an electric roller shutter that provided access to a communal porch. This meant that we couldn't open a window to let in air and light without giving up on some privacy. 5. Reaching the hotel by bus from la Spezia was a little complicated. The local bus company has poor service and info. Make sure you come to la Spezia at an hour when you can still buy tickets to the bus and there are still lines leading to the hotel. Contact the hotel in advance, as they can provide the necessary information.

Clean hotel with good service, very helpful staff, comfortable rooms and nice breakfast. You will likely need a car if you are staying here as it is at the top of a long winding road about 4 KM from the train station.

Great place but expensive to get to by Taxi
Overall, fantastic place. Comfortable, clean rooms recently remodeled. Wood floors. Excellent breakfast spread and dining area. Friendly, helpful staff speak great English. The only downside for us after having missed our stop at Cinque Terre and missing our reservation at our hotel there was that we weren't able to plan well enough to realize that this was a substantial taxi fare to get to from the train station...30 Euro. My husband talked him down to 20 but still....rountrip taxi fare to the place added 35% to our costs of staying here making it not worth it for our situation. If you're driving, its definitely worth checking out because the place is great. Its at the top of a hill so the view is great and you get a sense that you're away from the busy stress of the working city of La Spezia.

Exceedingly helpful staff made up for simple facilities. Sent us to a nearby restaurant for authentic cuisine (around the block) that was amazing! Clean and adequate but really it was the people that made our stay enjoyable. Shout out to both the guy and the girl in the reception area. They rock!

Great quiet place with awesome breakfast.
We stayed here 3 nights earlier this month. We booked a room for 4 but ended up having an extra person. The staff was nice enough to add a bed and let us all stay in the same room--for an added charge, but it is well worth it. The breakfast is amazing! You always read about how "light" the breakfasts are at hotels in Europe, but the breakfast here had an assortment of cereals, hams/speck, fruits, yogurt, toast...The cherry tomatoes are the BEST and freshest we've had ever! They have water, juice, teas, regular coffee, or you can ask for a cappuccino or expresso. The staff is very nice and pleasant and always helpful. The only thing is wifi is only in the common areas, but we knew that when we booked the place. But if you have to have wifi in your room, then you might want to reconsider booking this place. But really, who goes on vacation and is stuck to their phones/computers/tablets all day? You should go out and enjoy Italy--after a hearty breakfast, of course! Can't wait to come back here!!
