About 10 minutes walk from town, plus a free shuttle if you need it (eg to and from station).
Pool was one of the best I've seen; hotel has its own little bit of beach too.
Overall, would happily stay here again!
Overall we had a great experience. Great location, about a 15 minute walk from the train station. The hotel staff were very friendly and spoke English. The grounds are beautiful and we had the most picturesque view from our hotel window. Close to the beach and all restaurants.
We were a little concerned about our booking after having stayed in other hotels in Monteosso. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to be greeted by an extremely efficient and happy staff member at reception. This was echoed by all staff throughout the hotel from room cleaners, waitresses, receptionists to top management. Rooms and bathrooms were a good size and the hotel was close to the beach and all amenities. It was an ideal place to come back after a day's touring and to have a nice relaxing drink in the outside courtyard overlooking the ocean.

The view over Riomaggiore from our terrace was just spectacular. Despite the lack of AC, the fan was powerful enough to keep the room cool at night during a week of temps in the 90's. Breakfast wasn't much but was acceptable. Only real complaint was the lack of promised wifi. It worked for approximately 2 hours on the first day of our stay and never again. We informed reception but got no real answer about why it didn't work or attempt to fix it. Despite that, I would definitely recommend this hotel as a reasonably priced option if you're looking for a great view.
It was an adventure finding this hotel, even with GPS (still needed to ask directions, so brush up on Italian!). But once we found it, we enjoyed our stay. It was a sufficient, quiet, no frills solution for our family of 4 (includes 2 girls, ages 11 and 13). The place is truly in the middle of nowhere, but if you plan to explore the Cinque Terre area, it's an option if you prefer being away from the action. I have to mention the restaurant next door (not connected to the hotel), which was outstanding. The hotel feels like a family run place. It could use some updated facilities (hot water was a challenge in the morning).

The hotel room is very basic and expensive for the price we paid for but the view out of the hotel window is really stunning. The view of the Mediterranean Sea and the Cinque Terre cliff outweighs the condition of the room. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was superb. The location itself is not easy to find, we drove passing the hotel and ended up at Rio Maggiore before calling the hotel for the direction.

The guesthouse was a great place to stay. The owner was very helpful and friendly and the rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious. While others have mentioned the steep climb to the rooms, we didn't think it was bad and in fact we thought it added to the charm. Would definitely stay again.

Comprised of five tiny villages perched atop the cliffs of northern Italy's Riviera, the Cinque Terre is renowned for its lush vineyards and stunning Mediterranean Sea views. Ancient footpaths are the best way to explore. Via dell'Amore, a 5-hour hike through all 5 towns, provides postcard-worthy panoramas. Unwind by sipping specialty wines in Manarola or sunbathing at a Corniglia beach.
