We booked a standard room and it was more than adequate. Monterosso is the best of the towns in Cinque Terre and the hotel is in the town center. It is walkable to the train and boats. The breakfast was very good and they have a great garden terrace for afternoon wine or beer. The staff went out of their way to help with all our needs.
The hotel room is very basic and expensive for the price we paid for but the view out of the hotel window is really stunning. The view of the Mediterranean Sea and the Cinque Terre cliff outweighs the condition of the room. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was superb. The location itself is not easy to find, we drove passing the hotel and ended up at Rio Maggiore before calling the hotel for the direction.

Exactly what we expected a little Italian seaside room to look like. The room was modernized enough for comfort, with a mini fridge and cappuccino maker. Private bath, great shower and cleaned daily. This is not an American style hotel, so if that's what you are looking for, you won't find it here. There are no lifts. Lots of steep stairs to your room so leave the large luggage at home. We had carry-ons and had no problem at all. Would recommend booking the room with the private terrace.
The hotel staff was truly accommodating!! we last minute had to find a place to stay as our original lodging fell through due to bed bugs (ew). We booked the hotel and soon realized that the front desk closed at 7. I called and spoke with the manager and he said he would not leave until we arrived (45 minutes after closing). He mentioned that since it was a last minute booking we were not going to be able to stay in the same room both nights but that he would securely hold onto our belongings while we explored Cinque Terre the next day. Both rooms were lovely and worth the price.
It was an adventure finding this hotel, even with GPS (still needed to ask directions, so brush up on Italian!). But once we found it, we enjoyed our stay. It was a sufficient, quiet, no frills solution for our family of 4 (includes 2 girls, ages 11 and 13). The place is truly in the middle of nowhere, but if you plan to explore the Cinque Terre area, it's an option if you prefer being away from the action. I have to mention the restaurant next door (not connected to the hotel), which was outstanding. The hotel feels like a family run place. It could use some updated facilities (hot water was a challenge in the morning).

When you get out the train it's about 3 minutes to your right. You do check in at another hotel and get the key, about 2mindown atreet. Elena was amazing, the airline lost my friends bag, and Elena let us call the airline everyday till we got the bag. She also offered to send it to our next location if it came after we left. She gave us great recommendations. The room faced the water,it was clean and bright looked like pics. Would recommend!
Comprised of five tiny villages perched atop the cliffs of northern Italy's Riviera, the Cinque Terre is renowned for its lush vineyards and stunning Mediterranean Sea views. Ancient footpaths are the best way to explore. Via dell'Amore, a 5-hour hike through all 5 towns, provides postcard-worthy panoramas. Unwind by sipping specialty wines in Manarola or sunbathing at a Corniglia beach.
