It's a nice hotel, but it's an old building. The bathroom was a bit small and there was no real counter space for toiletries and makeup bags. The elevators were the most aggravating. You could stand there for 10 minutes listening to them woosh up and down before it thinks to stop on your floor. It's faster to just walk down.

Gutes Hotel in sehr zentraler Lage

Posted 14-May-2016
Pros: Zentrale Lage

It was adequate.

Posted 13-May-2016
Pros: The location.
Location: It's on Huron and Michigan Avenue near Water Tower so there is too much to mention.
The hotel was very pricey. Had a view of brick walls, and heard delivery trucks int he alley below. Best feature is its location.

Good location

Posted 12-May-2016
Great location to walk around. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. Great staff. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room. The hotel room was super small, not the cleanest carpet, and the windows were drafty. At night it's super noisy (it's right next to Northwestern hospital). We faced Michigan Ave. on the 9th floor and the sirens kept waking me up all night long.

Nice hotel, close to shopping/restaurants

Posted 11-May-2016
Pros: Overall appearance, history and quaintness.
Cons: Coffee pot in room
Location: The location was perfect; it was walking distance from many shops/restaurants/other entertainment the city had to offer.
It was good, staff was pleasant - only got to experience one night to experience the comfort.

Small room with big views

Posted 11-May-2016
I stayed in one of the smaller rooms as I was on a business trip but the views were spectacular. On the 11th floor in a corner room I had great views of Michigan Ave. The bed was comfy and rooms were clean. Outside is currently under renovations so scaffolding made it slightly difficult to see the front entrance. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially Aaron and the bell hops. Can't wait to stay there again!

Good location hotel

Posted 09-May-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Size of the room, bathroom
Location: Designers stores, Restaurants
The staff very friendly and helpful when we ask for directions and good food. We are family of four we call for one more towel the first day did not send it, the next day We call about three times to get the towel, bad service. The room very small and the bathroom there's no space in the sink to put anything, but location is very nice

Historic Hotel

Posted 03-May-2016
Pros: location
Location: Just off Michigan Ave. The Windsor Restaurant & Bar in the Hampton Inn at the corner is a great quick place for food and drinks.
B/C this is a historic hotel the rooms are much smaller- but we didn't go to Chicago to spend time in our room! Good location with shopping, restaurants and bars nearby. In house bar has a nice ambiance. Staff were welcoming and helpful. This is not an upscale hotel and did not quite meet the 4 star rating, but a nice place to stay. Valet is on the ground level and registration on Level 2 along with the bar and restaurant. Elevators are small (again - historic hotel) and patience is needed as they are sometimes slow in coming.
