Outside is old and eclectic but room is great

Posted 31-Aug-2015
Pros: The room was great. The history was interesting.
Cons: Room service was missed one day. Also, they charged mistakenly charged valet parking to my room for 2 days and had to reverse that charge. Stressful.
Location: Right on magnificent mile shopping area. Close to everything. Downside was all stores nearby had inflated prices it seems for just about anything.
The elevators are old and small but are fast enough and work fine. The lobby is eclectic and old and not grand by today's standards but this hotel has interesting history. Room was clean and modern. King Bed was comfortable and new. Only issue was the second last day they didn't make up our room and we got back at 11 pm after room service was gone for the day. We had to make it up ourselves but they gave us a free breakfast the next day which was well worth it. It was an all you can heat buffet breakfast with pretty much all you could ask for. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend them.

Great Stay in The Second City!

Posted 30-Aug-2015
The Allerton is perfectly located on the Mag Mile! Less than 10 minutes to cheap or expensive dining, shopping and entertainment. Perfectly safe area, with easy access to public transportation. Panhandlers were something to get used to, but that goes with big cities. Using CTA was easy and took us anywhere we needed to go. I hope to go back to Chicago many times in my life. My location, my hotel served me very well.

Nice Hotel.

Posted 27-Aug-2015
Pros: Clean rooms, good bed.
Cons: Would be nice to have a dresser to put clothes in.
Location: Right by Michigan Ave. Lots of restaurants nearby. Walked to Navy Pier. Subway close by.
We enjoyed staying here. Good bed, clean rooms. Did not eat at the restaurant. Liked the noon checkout time.

Room is decent, clean and room service is on time.

Posted 27-Aug-2015
Pros: Restroom
Cons: Elevator timing. Staffs should be friendly. Amenities like refrigerator and coffee.
Location: Magnificent mile
Check in is supposed to be 4pm but the room was not yet ready and we were so tired from a long flight and so it was so disappointing. Some staffs are friendly but mostly not. Elevators are horrible. It sometimes skip the floor and it could take you 15minutes of waiting until it stops on your floor. No space in refrigerator for your foods and items because they're only for items to be purchased. So whatever you buy from outside, sorry, no space for them. No microwaves and no coffee which I thought are common to be offered for free for most hotels, cheap or not. Rooms are small but it does not matter as long as the beds are comfy. Restroom is big enough. Fairly decent hotel for the price.

good location, but terrible stay

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: the location
Cons: Everything can be improved
Location: water tower, navy pier
This was our first stay at this hotel and definitely it will be the last. They put us (me and my daughter) on the littlest room in the hotel, just beside to the air compressors, which made terrible noises.... My friend and her daughter got a wonderful room, even with a living room included. It was incredible. I had the most terrible experience. The hotel was on reconstruction, also.
