This hotel is very close to the Magnificent Mile and many restaurants and attractions. The staff at the James always makes me feel like home!

It’s been a few years since I’ve stayed at the James hotel. The property and the staff service has declined significantly. Day 2 we opened our room refrigerator to find a stench from open sushi (assuming from the prior guests). To get that removed and the number of conversations and people involved was unreal. The level of professionalism and service was extremely disappointing. Will never stay at a James property again.

Fabulous location, walking distance to a lot of attractions, shop across the road and the rooms are big and comfortable. Staff are helpful. Be aware that there is a resort fee.

Great hotel near everything. We travelled with two small kids so finding a hotel in town was essential for us. Their lil James program looked amazing but unfortunately our room tablet didn’t work so we didn't receive the complimentary turn-down service (milk and cookies for the kids) during our stay. In talking to a hotel employee the next morning about this issue she immediately brought the kids cookies to our room in a box so they could eat them on our drive home. Rooms were comfortable, hotel was clean, everything else was wonderful!

The room seemed a little worn, lots of scuffs on walls and on bathroom fixtures, pictures not hanging on their hooks, carpet was wet when I arrived and there was a repairman in the bathroom. The bar happy hour was nice and the hotel was packed with a conference of some kind. Staff were a little cold but overall it was good enough. Would not be my top choice next time I’m in town but I got a great rate thru Expedia (which was more doubled by parking and facility fees.)
