Not enough pressure in shower. Lack of variety on menu, lack of 'real' restaurant, no privacy - sitting literally in the lobby- a turnoff.

We had a great time in Chicago. The knickerbocker made the whole experience.

Great Historical Hotel: needs small improvements

Posted 26-Apr-2016
Very well located, for someone's first visit. Our room a corner unit, lovely modern bath, with area to apply makeup, shower excellent and roomy closet dressing area. The main area could be a little larger or the layout slightly different, so one can enjoy the view outside. There is a mini bar however no snacks for late night munchies. The computers in the hotel and room were not working for the entire 4 day stay, staff said it would just be a day. The breakfast is was good but the coffee was burnt sending me to a locate a better priced with great coffee a few blocks a way. Room service was prompt each morning, for those who travel this is a big deal. Returning in the late afternoon to an unmade bed is rough. Thank you to prompt room service. The concierge sought us out to mention things to do. The bell and doorman also more than helpful at all times. I would return, fix the coffee and computers and please put a set of crackers out for purchase or a vending machine!

Business Trip to Chicago

This hotel is very very nice! I had some presentations to attend in Chicago and this hotel was perfectly located in downton at the Magnificent Mile. Lobby is a little dated and coult take a little TLC but rooms are fantastic! Upgraded rooms, great rain shower, beds are some of the most comfortable ones I have sept in, service is GREAT!! All staff treats you like royalty, great food at the restaurant for breakfast! I was very pleased with my stay and will recommend it to everybody!!

Not 4 star

Mattresses too soft and lumpy. Pillows small. Air didn't work? Set to 65, stayed at 73! Carpet was stained.

Romantic trip

Posted 18-Apr-2016
Pros: Yes
Cons: Free wifi.
Location: Close to John Hancock building and close to shopping
Hotel was nice, staff were polite and helpful plus it was in a good location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Only downfall I could see was paying for the wifi it seemed petty since you can go to holiday inn express and get it free. Also there lobby had some damage to the floor. I did like the live music in bar area. I would go back.

Very modern with a few quirks

Posted 18-Apr-2016
Pros: The bed was perfect. Very comfortable.
Cons: Fix the little issues with the room.
Location: Right downtown and within walking distance to anything you want.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, very well designed, comfortable bed and perfect for an overnight stay. Beyond that, things go south in a hurry. We had a shower door that only open in one direction and did close so water went everywhere, a thermostat that didn't work so our room was 75 degrees all night (too warm to be under sheets) and the smoke alarm was covered in a plastic bag held in pace by a black lacy thong. We also would have stopped by the bar in the lobby but the band was so loud, we couldn't here the gentleman at the check-in counter so we went on to another bar down the street. Given the chance, I would stay here again. The issues we encountered were not bad enough to boycott this place. They could just give a little attention to detail and have the opportunity to charge more and make more money.

Nice. They let me check in early and waived the early check in fee.
