This motel was great for a one night stay in Chicago. It was super clean, and the man at the front desk was very nice! Free parking is also a HUGE plus. The biggest downside was the noise, the motel is located on a busy intersection, and the walls arent soundproof at all. As long as you dont mind traffic noise, this is an excellent choice for a short stay.

Great freaking Motel! For an older establishment and the location you won’t be disappointed. Coming from an individual who prefers either 4-5 Star hotels.

What’s up with people Peeping and Creeping
A weird experience where the hotel moved me from one room to another. They seemed very upset if you refused maid service.At times you felt like someone was peeping and creeping.. A very Norman Bates feel. I left because for the type of motel it is they were way too up for n your business. Creepy.

This property is very difficult to access if it is on the left side of the road as you approach it. With all of the crazy one-way streets surrounding it, it was challenging to find a way to get to it from the other direction. By the time we finally got there by holding up a line of honking cars while we made a U-turn, we were not in the best of moods, so our impressions were probably a bit jaded. It is a clean property that appears to have been freshly painted, but it is an old property. The furnishings are functional but dated--probably from the late '60's/early 70's. The room was very basic with no hair dryer or refrigerator, and the towels were small and thin. Internet was slow, but available. The beds were comfortable as was the temperature, and we got the impression that the owner takes care of the motel. Price was reasonable, considering its location. We had planned to stay four nights but checked out after the first night because it was farther away than we thought it would be from our son's place. That was our mistake, not the motel's. If you just need a clean place to stay, this fills the bill. Just remember that it is a budget motel, not the typical type of inn you will find along an expressway.

We went to a show at The Edge Theatre on Broadway. Most convenient with lots of dining options nearby, especially the Cozy Corner for breakfast. (No breakfast at motel since COVID).

Honestly I was a little shocked at how great this room was! No frills, but incredibly clean, quiet, and we felt very safe! Will rebook next time we’re there.

Excellent Staff
Excellent customer service and clean facilities. Building is maintained well although it needs a more modern renovation. Nonetheless, you can tell the staff and contractors do an amazing service and work.

An old style road motel, so not new and ultra-modern. not fancy, but clean and pleasant staff and free parking. Close to Clark Street bus and Peterson bus for easy city traveling.

We were in need of a safe, clean spot to rest for night in Chicago that didn't break the bank. Looking around at other options, we saw rooms going for $300 and up, which was crazy for a bed and shower. Then we saw The Heart O' Chicago for a much more reasonable amount and took a chance. It exceeded all expectations. I would stay here again without question.

This motel is truly a vintage place. Like a 50s diner that still has pieces from the original era. Considering the age of the property, the housekeeping crew does a phenomenal job! And they clean rooms daily, which is so rare to find nowadays. Staff is incredibly helpful and accommodative (and funny!). My only gripe is that the property is on a very busy corner. I think the windows and insulation are a bit dated, since you can hear so much traffic noise. I was worried about this at first. But I turned on the air and TV for background noise and slept just fine. Location is great. Would stay again! Thank you!

Great location for Edgewater/Andersonville
No frills hotel in Edgewater. Great location for me, and inexpensive. Noisy at all hours, but that is city living! Convenient to CTA Damen bus and Clark bus.

Accommodations are good for the price. Easy access to the bus line. Close proximity to the train. Lobby still not open for free coffee. Starbucks down the block was closed Saturday and Sunday, so it made getting out to get coffee a bit more of an effort. Housekeeping personnel are great. Desk clerk a little standoffish. Rooms need new carpeting. Some rooms were being fitted with new carpet the day I left. I have stayed here before and will again. The free parking is great if traveling by car.

This is definitely a "no-frills" hotel and the rooms are a bit dated. No coffee maker, microwave or fridge, and no "continental breakfast as they have listed in their description. However, the people we dealt with were very nice, the room very clean and since we simply needed a place to sleep during our stay it for the bill perfectly. This was our second time staying here and we would happily stay here again.
