Not the place for us!

Pros: Old historical building well maintained with lovely and spacious rooms. Great area!
Cons: Attention to clients concerns. Perhaps groups could all be booked near each other - maybe at one end of the hall.
Location: On Michigan Avenue in Chicago - South Loop - great location. Many restaurants, shops, the river, museums within walking distance.
We stayed for two nights. The first night we had a large group of teenagers on our floor and they ran back and forth between rooms all night. We were moved to another floor the next day where we had neighbors who were very loud and smoking pot until 5:30am. We are pretty tolerant folks but the most disappointing part of this is that the hotel manager just didn't seem be overly concerned regarding our complaints. She said they would send security but we never saw or heard anyone confronting the noisemakers. We did see someone spraying room freshener in the hall, apparently to cover the smell of marijana. Smoking is prohibited, so why not smoking marijana? We decided that Hard Rock might be a place that attracts folks who like staying up all night and perhaps we should just find another hotel next time. It is a lovely place with basic clean rooms but it would have been nice to get some sleep as well.

Also, that our location provided a base for you to enjoy the best of what Chicago has to offer. I do, however, want to apologize that your time was overshadowed by others. We do adhere to a strict non-smoking policy and that is inclusive of all forms. Please know that we take our guest's comfort very seriously and that it is our top priority. I truly apologize for the issues that you experienced during your time with us.

Nice hotel, great location!

Pros: Room, was good size and clean!
Cons: Restaurants were the worst, there are two one is a Jamaican style and the other is cold and the bartender is the worst, middle aged guy with a beard.
Location: Perfect to do all the attractions!
Perfect location, get the big red bus pass and you can jump on and off at all the tourist locations.

Great customer service

This is our 3rd year in a row staying here for holiday visit...Despite small confusion of what room we thought we booked (our mistake) Mgr Zach fixed everything! Cannot ask for better staff or location! We will be back next year!

Watch your credit card

I went to HR for my birthday on Christmas Day and it was horrible. All I can say is be sure you pay attention to what they are charging you. First they over charged me in the restaurant and it took 4 days to correct. When bought to the manager's attention she proceeded to yell at my husband. They then swiped my card twice for the stay and when I brought it to management attention and they blamed my bank. I called and spoke with the manager at Hard Rock and let her know my bank reversed the double charge but it's bad business to be over charging people. I asked for an explanation of why they thought this was ok and for an apology. I said they should comp the room for all they hassle and stress. She than began to scream and I mean scream because I told her in addition to whatever the outcome was I would be writting a bad review and telling all of my friends and family to not stay there. She said I was threatening her. No im warning people of your shady and fraudulent business practices. There are too many beautiful places to stay in Chicago downtown that's to stay somewhere that thinks it's ok to swipe your card and double charge you.

She loved it. At 16 what couldn't be more awesome than staying at the hard rock. We enjoyed the environment.
