Great place, the rooms are large and the hotel grounds provide a very relaxing space to chill. Lots of water and places to sit. Only thing i did not like much was the bed was a bit too hard. Otherwise perfect place.

Really neat old classic Thai hotel in the heart of old town. Great location to bars and markets. The grounds are full of beautiful plants and landscaping, good breakfast. I would highly recommend it!

Lovely Hotel
This was our 2nd stay and will stay again in the future, lovely friendly staff and a nice quiet hotel, also all the old artefacts displayed around the hotel and the small museum are fascinating, the rooms are well appointed and comfortable and the surrounding area has some excellent restaurants and two bars with live music every night within a two minute walk

This is a beautiful property and we loved our time here. The carvings, artwork, bedroom decor and design are stunning. There is a large pool, fitness centre, and breakfast is included. The team are very friendly, professional and helpful. It was evident that they all take pride in their workplace as we never saw anything out of place or needing attention. It is located in the ‘Old City’ so it’s within walking distance of the markets - easy to find lunch/dinner options as well as laundromats and other conveniences. My only criticism is the very firm bed, my partner was okay with it but I found it too hard. Other than that, we really enjoyed our 2 nights here and would love to return.

This property has great gardens and facilities reminiscent of grand hotels of a bygone era. The decor and quaint features make this a special experience over and above what we have experience elsewhere in Thailand. The staff are both professional and super friendly. The rooms are spacious and grand. The hotel is very well located for a short walk or ride to many attractions. There are many amenities close by including restaurants by the dozen, laundry, bike and car rental etc. The hotel prices are very low and represent great value for money. The manager is both well spoken and helpful, a great asset to the hotel.

A charming traditional Thai style hotel with lovely and relaxing common areas, and good size rooms. Convenient location in the Old City quarter of Chiang Mai. A good breakfast at the hotel, but it does not serve lunch or dinner. However, there are many local restaurants in the immediate area for meals. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and Old City.

A hidden gem in old Chiang Mai
The Kodchasri Thani Hotel located in Chiang Mai’s old walled city is a gem. Its architecture harkens back to the Franco-Thai style of the early 1900s but is so well maintained that it appears almost new. As one who lived in Bangkok and Chiang Mai for extended periods from the mid-1970s through the 1980s and who has made extended visits to both cities many times, I chose to stay at the hotel for nearly three weeks due primarily to its evocative memories of Chiang Mai’s more peaceful past. The hotel itself is literally an island of tranquility in today’s expanding city, yet within walking distance or short taxi rides of its many tourist sites and restaurants. On approaching the hotel, one sees the character of its period architecture but on entering might be somewhat disappointed by the plainness of its reception area. Don’t be fooled: once you pass by reception you are met with an extremely well-maintained tropical garden cooled by circulating water in a narrow pool. Moving further towards the wings housing the majority of its rooms and the hotel’s new and rapid three floor elevator, there is an expansive sheltered resting area bordered and cooled on three sides by a large koi pond. The rooms themselves are relatively large and well-maintained by a conscientious housekeeping staff. The restaurant offers a good quality breakfast of salads, yoghurt, omelets and Asian food and inside or poolside dining.The breakfast staff is polite and attentive, as is the reception staff.

Loved this hotel! It is ran so well and is gorgeous. The staff was so personable and friendly. We were happy to be able to book 2 rooms on very late notice and it turning out to be a nice hotel! The building itself looks like a blend of traditional Thai styles with the amazing woodwork and modern amenities. The pool area is a great place to eat and hang out. Regarding the room, it was large, clean, and the bed was comfortable. We had a view of the pool area and were able to open the window for some fresh air. The breakfast was also delicious. They switch-up the main dishes daily (noodles on day, fried chicken, etc.) and one of the days the Dragonfruit was so perfectly fresh and ripe. Minor qualms were that were was not an elevator to our room (there is an elevator for the other building though, but our room is used for 'overflow' times). Also, there is thumping bass from the nearby club until 2am, which not much can be done about. With the AC on, you can't really hear it though. I like having a fresh towel everyday, but know it's bad for the environment. If there was an option to keep housecleaning from switching out after a single-use that would be great. Overall, the hotel and staff do everything to make your stay comfortable. Thank you for the great stay!

Beautiful hotel. Staff are friendly. It is tranquil and clean.breakfast is good. Due to the nature scenery and greenery there are mosquitoes so we got bitten a lot. The hotel is carved beautifully. Rooms are spacious and staff are helpful. Lots of tour and massage places locally but there is not many eateries close by however using bolt app transport is cheap to get to places for food etc. i would recommend the stay

Wonderful traditional Thai setting
The location and setting is wonderful, however, I was there during a difficult time for the city and I was the only guest that evening. This is a shame because the grounds and surroundings and room are traditional Thai style and they are kept in an excellent way as well as a beautiful swimming pool in the centre of the grounds. The staff did everything to make me happy and accommodate my needs and when the city is able to accommodate tourists I will return and certainly stay at this hotel.

Very large rooms. Great location. You can easily walk around old town very safely. Great restaurant called Dash on the street behind the hotel. Pool was very refreshing. Not heated but AWESOME once you were in and swimming. Nice shower with soaps and towels at the pool too. Nice breakfast. Organic eggs cooked to your liking etc.. would definitely stay here again. Lovely hotel. Would not waste your time on any of the side trips like the tigers (our 18 yo refused saying they drug the tigers for them to be tame for human contact) orchids etc... total tourist traps!! Karen Village is worth it only in order to give money directly into the hands of the woman as well as to purchase their scarves as it is their livelihood. They are not part of a circus. Sad life for these amazing woman. Go directly from the airport to the White and Blue temples in Chiang Rai... long drive and guides will try to talk you out of it and into the other little tourist traps close by. Don’t fall for it. Long drive. Put your bags in the vehicle and go. Can check into hotel later. If you arrive on A weekend, they town has an awesome Sunday market. Beautiful and fun items for purchase at extremely reasonable prices. Best elephant sanctuary is probably the nature one in Chiang Mai. Dumbo was ok only because of the calf. Otherwise would select a different one. Don't let travel agent convince you to go where you don’t want. Have a plan. Wish we had spent a little more time in Chiang Mai vs. BK. Wonderful city:)

A Disappointing Stay
We were greeted warmly when we first arrived. We booked two rooms and were pleasantly surprised to be booked in adjoining rooms. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. However, that’s where the pleasantries end. This hotel had the worst internet I’ve encountered in a long time. One room was infested with ants and, when we asked to resolve the issue, we were told that they were aware of the ant situation and yet still chose to give us that room. They gave us a different room for the rest of the stay which was better. However, then we had issues with the other room. The toilet overflowed and, rather than properly cleaning the bathroom afterward, they simply dried the floors and called it a day. The remainder of our stay, the bathroom had a sewer smell that increasingly worsened. I would not stay at this hotel again.

Charming hotel in Old Town
Hotel is charming. The grounds are lovely and employees are constantly gardening and cleaning. The pool is great. Staff is very nice and helpful. The free breakfast is very good as it has lots of variety. Our room was large and comfortable. The hotel is located in Old Town and is very close to many restaurants. Everything else is essy to get to by taxi or tuk tuk. They do have several cats on the property which was not a problem but the adult dog and 2 puppies was an issue. Our room was in the back area and the dogs were noisy late at night and early AM. This was not rectified despite my request.

This is a beautiful Hotel with stunning gardens and a huge lovely reading and relaxing area. Some Hotels you just stay there to sleep and eat, this is the type that is so pleasant you are happy to relax around the grounds. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Beautiful!

Based in the old city, it is about a half hour walk to the main night market or from 60-100 bart in a cab. A lovely hotel with picturesque surrounds and very friendly staff. Restaurant was ok. Room was nice and quite, clean and comfortable.

My friend and I spend 3 days at Kodchasri ,location is good ,not too far to Tha Phae Gate ,many massage place nearby ,Pool is beautiful and awesome ,Very nice breakfast. ,and it's convenient for tourist that most driver know this hotel . AND if you're a cat lover ,you'll absolutely love this hotel ,they have 6 beautiful cats running around in lobby and garden ,all cute and friendly ,one of them even play with me while i was soak in the pool. Overall ,it's a nice hotel ,but 2 thing need improve :1. one day while we still sleeping ,house keeper break into our room. 2.the mattress was hard.

Balcony ?
I suggest you do not pay extra for the balcony rooms. Our balcony room had no windows and the bugs were so bad it was difficult to sit out. Overall the hotel is in a great area. Best Thai food restaurant "Dash" is directly behind the hotel.
