Fantastic experience

Beautiful grand hotel with traditional values. Right in the heart of Chester. Brilliant. Rooms are a little small and dated, and to pay an extra to use spa facilities is ridiculous! Breakfast is lovely, brilliant service by all staff.

Posted 27-May-2017
Pros: Position

Lovely traditional style hotel. Staff very attentive. Hotel spotlessly clean. Service second to none. I look forward to repeating my visit in the near future

Nice hotel close to shops and bars

Posted 19-May-2017
Booked a night away with a friend. booked a deluxe room requested single beds ,would of been nice to be told before arriving that this was not possible. The bed was very large so it was fine . We had a bad view of a roof but the room was very quiet .not much room in the main bedroom.peffect location to walk out to the shops and bars .very easy to park car and straight into hotel from car park. Nice continental breakfast but for the price of the room a free cooked breakfast should be included. It was a nice treat and I would stay again .

Great staff but avoid school holidays!

Posted 12-Apr-2017
Pros: Friendliness of staff, and service.
Cons: Breakfast at busy times - a problem at times of high occupancy.
Location: Fantastic location right in the centre of Chester.
Staff are extremely helpful and attentive. However, avoid school holiday Mondays as waiting for breakfast was like being at Disneyland Paris - had to wait 20 mins for a table, and the noise...! Also if booking a Classic Double don't expect much space in the room. The bathroom was half the size of the bedroom and there was practically no hanging space in the wardrobe. Having said that I will probably return as the location is perfect.
