Centrally placed, ideal for the visitor.

Pros: The aire of efficiency.
Cons: Perhaps not charging extra for a cooked breakfast. However, I did like the fact that I did not have to undergo the dreaded buffet breakfast.
Location: Location was unserpassed.
From arrival to departure there was a culture of efficiency combined with a friendly approach. Not the least expensive hotel but worth what you pay.

Pros: It's character, style and appearance.
Cons: Breakfast service was slow. Perhaps if a buffet style service was introduced it would alleviate the build up of people needed to be seated.
Location: Location is perfect to attend nearby activities. Site seeing bus and river boat experience worth taking.
The experience was mostly good, however certain aspects could be improved.

In the middle of Chester very handy for shopping

Pros: Its location and attentive staff
Location: Excellent shops and restaurants. Lovely river and a racecourse. Beautiful architecture.
When we arrived as it was a very special birthday we were upgraded to a superior room. My husband had ordered a bouquet and a cake which were in the room. There was a lovely letter from the Manager. All the staff kept wishing me happy birthday and in the evening at dinner in The Brasserie there was a lovely chocolate greeting on my dessert. They made me feel very special. The staff are so attentive and welcoming and ... very professional. Both dinner in the evening and breakfast were excellent.

Lovely hotel, too many notices about do's and dont's and warning of charges of upto £200 if any traces of tobacco or any high colourant products used in the bathroom.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Some of the staff need to learn to smile! Breakfast should include traditional as part of the room rate not just continental, had to pay extra £9.50
Location: Shops bars restaurants sightseeing Chester is a gorgeous city
Beautiful hotel, the staff look after you but some of them need to learn how to smile! The rooms are fabulous A nice personal touch when you go to bed they pull back the duvet for you and leave a bottle of water by the bedside.

Fantastic customer service made our stay.

Pros: The staff
Cons: We perhaps prefer a hotel with more modern decor, however everything else more than made up for this.
Location: The Grosvenor is right in the centre of Chester, everything is on the doorstep of the hotel.
We booked into a deluxe room at the Grosvenor recently and due to a misinterpretation of the facilities available in the room we were left a little disappointed. The staff (especially Danielle) went above and beyond when ensuring they did everything possible to make us happy, and turned a potentially disappointing stay into a fantastic one. The Grosvenor is a great hotel, and its location and facilities are deserving if its 5 star status, however its the staff that it a very special hotel.
