Amazing Stay

Posted 07-Dec-2016
Pros: Excellent Location, great staff. Wonderful experience.
Cons: I could not criticise anything.
Location: Right in the centre of Chester. Shops and restaurant just outside the door.
Booked this hotel last minute and from the moment we pulled up outside the doors to the minute we left we were made to feel special by the hotel staff. Absolutely fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. The continental breakfast which was included in the price was enjoyed in wonderfully decadent surroundings. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and would like to thank all the staff for a wonderful time. The location of the hotel was right in the centre. Could not have asked for anything else.

Beautiful hotel

Posted 05-Dec-2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: Bar tariff is very high, but I suppose its what you expect from a 5* Hotel!
Location: Location is great, smack bang in the middle of Chester, with lots to see and do surrounding the hotel.
We were not disappointed with our stay at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel, the food and cocktails were amazing. Chester is also a lovely place to visit for a spot of shopping which included all the normal high street stores, but also had little one off quirky shops and of course the Christmas Markets were on too. All in all we had a wonderful stay.

Excellent hotel in a marvellous position in Chester city centre. Great for shopping as well as the Cathedral and a walk around the city wall

Perfect location inthe centre of the town.

Posted 28-Nov-2016
Pros: Central location. It a lovely building.
Cons: Buffet breakfast service. The food could be served warmer.
Location: We arrived on the first day of the Christmas market so everything was very Christmassy - it looked beautiful.
On arrival we were welcomed by the friendly and efficient reception staff and were upgraded to a bigger room. The room was very comfortable with a huge bed. Everything was spotlessly clean. It was a nice touch to have the fresh milk in the fridge. The continental breakfast was lovely although The porridge was cold but was replaced without fuss. The cooked breakfast was disappointing as this was cold also. Plenty of toast, tea, Coffee and pastries. Chester is a beautiful city and we will certainly return.

Special treat

Posted 24-Nov-2016
The whole experience was just fantastic, the staff are very helpful and happy, the room was excellent clean and very luxurious, we ate in the Brasserie for dinner and the Rib Eye steak was possibly the best steak I've ever eaten. Breakfast was also excellent especially the pork sausages in the full English. It was a special treat and we will definitely be back next year at the Grosvenor Hotel to make it an annual stay especially when combined with the Chester Christmas Market.

Great hotel right on the high street

Posted 20-Nov-2016
I recommend this hotel. The staff are fabulous who cannot do enough for you. The hotel is beautiful. My party ate in the Brasserie and had a really good quality, well cookedl meal. The drinks prices are a little expensive in the bar though.

Great Central location

Posted 14-Nov-2016
Pros: Dinner at Simon Radley at the Grosvenor and location next to the historic clock and city walls.
Cons: Additional charges for full English breakfast and for use of the spa. Check in experience was not great, but this appeared to be a one off issue.
Location: Wonderfully central location in historic Chester and close to North Wales attractions such as Eroding National Trust estate.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location, fantastic!

Posted 09-Nov-2016
Pros: Food, room , drinks - all excellent
Cons: Breakfast, a little haphazard for my and not 5* service
Location: Great for shopping
Excellent hotel, bit pricey but worth a treat. Lovely relaxing lunch in the Arc Bar and service was excellent. We ate at Simon Radley's in the evening, not as formal as first thought and the taster menu was worth every penny. One small gripe was the breakfast in the morning, not the food but a couple of things which wasn't 5* - no spoons on the cups, gave coffee without any milk, not condiments given with the toast, so had to ask for a few things which was not the same as the previous evening - disappointing and would have expected more from a 5*

Four nights in splendid comfort.

Posted 06-Nov-2016
Pros: An hotel with character and finesse. Superb, Michelin starred restaurant. Very welcoming.
Cons: Breakfast staff in La Brasserie could be a little quicker. Service times were long when the restaurant got busier.
Location: City centre location, accessible by car if you know where you are going. Shops literally as you walk out of the hotel. Cathedral is five minutes walk.
