Lovely traditional hotel with very friendly staff. The room was well equiped, clean and quiet. We used the nearby car park which was £10, not bad for city centre location We felt the stay was very good value for what we paid to be in the centre of Chester

Good hotel if you just need a base to stay. I would not recommend this if you were wanting to spend time in the hotel though. Our bed space was ok but the bathroom was rather vile with a ceiling of black mold. Black grouting in the shower and bathroom bin and glasses that clearly have not been cleaned in a while. If you are looking for breakfast I would not get it here. There are an abundance of restaurants near by which I am sure are much nicer. Not a hotel I would be returning to or recommending.

Our room was lovely with the biggest bed ive ever slept in. Pillows were so soft. Only disappointment was the breakfast, £30 for 2 breakfasts and the choice for a full english consisted of cold beans, cold fried eggs, cold scrambled eggs, cold sausages, and raw bacon. My advice dont stay for breakfast theres plenty of places to eat at half the price near the hotel.

Hairs all over the bath, toilet and sink. A shower that wouldn’t get hot and no response to my email 3 days before our stay. In a very convenient location though!

Positives first, great central location, clean and comfortable room and bed. Negatives, there’s a nightclub attached to the hotel which could be heard and felt through the bed all night until 4am! It was so bad I heard and felt it from the second floor, dread to think how bad it was closer to the club! No where on the website stated this prior to booking? Parking not far away but double the price of what I was told when I rang them, £20 for overnight parking.

Everything about the property was good. Allthough a little out dated but that is all Part of the decor for hotel Of its age. Could maybe have usb sockets fitted in rooms. The hotel Was spotless and staff went above and beyond Emily couldn’t help us enough she was a star 🌟

Value for money hotel in the heart of the city. Front desk reception friendly enough, didn't stay for breakfast so can't comment. Only downside was shower had one setting scolding hot which couldn't seem to be adjusted. Would stay again.

Room was a bit run down, bathroom ceiling had paint peeling off it and the skirting boards looked like they had been run down & not painted, also the bar area was not open when we enquired we were told that it only opened at the weekend, if that’s the case it should say so in the information when booking

The staff in hotel where all lovely. But i was disappointed that there was no restaurant at night. I booked a family room and was disappointed that it was a fold up bed along with a double. Wasmt really equipped for a family.

A Bargain Midweek Stay, Thanks to Hotel.com.
Looking for a midweek overnight stay via Hotels. Com. Special offer of £45 for a standard king room. Lovely magestic hotel upon entering. Our room was huge, clean and warm. Furnishings are a little tired but it certainly didn't detract from our stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay again. Central location. One word of advice. Parking at the Grosvenor car park is advertised at £10 for 24 hours. We arrived at 6.30pm and left at 2.30pm the next day and the charge was £14. This is triggered as the parking is measured between 6pm to 2am. So you need to arrive before 6pm to qualify for the 24 hour rate (from our reckoning).

Hotel is in a great location and the public rooms feel great, however, the rooms are tired and in need of some work. We upgraded to a superior double. The sink was cracked, large stain on the threadbare carpet and water damage marks to the ceiling and a rather dirty towel. We were only staying one evening so didn’t make any complaint.

Traditional Hotel
The room was large, the bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was compact and functional. We received a fabulous welcome at reception and when we arrived back at the hotel late we received another fabulous welcome from the night porter - a lovely traditional hotel experience. A wonderful location with a very nice cosy pub right next door. Highly recommend.

Room decor in need of refurbishment. The net curtains were ripped, stained carpet and no TV remote. The bar should be closed. VERY poorly stocked and VERY EXPENSIVE, £35 for 2 drinks. We have stayed at the hotel a number of times as it’s location is good but feel this was our last.

From the outside, the property looked very small, but once inside the foyer/ reception area was immaculate We arrived later than expected but this was due to trouble finding our way around the roads as some are only one way or bollards are in place. There was nothing to complain about, although the tea/coffee facilities need a good upgrade. The kettle could be replaced and the mugs a little bigger due to liking a good mug of tea first thing in the morning. The breakfast was ok but pricey for the full english considering what my partner had. Night staff Emily was li ely and informative and although our door keys seemed to have locked us out before the xheck out time, staff were on hand to support with the issue. A massive thankyou for your hospitality and we will return due to the comfort of the hotel and the surrounding area. It was our first visit to Chester but didnt see everything we wanted to see so defo will be back to picknup where we left off. Thankyou

we had the Rose Suite. lounge area was not cosy a real waste of space. not decorated nicely - pretty much travelodge standard but 4 times the price. bed good, shower good if you overlook the green mould on the shower screen and black mould on the sealant. no worth the money. great location though.

Great location.
Nice hotel, large clean room with King size bed. Breakfast good and staff friendly. Only downside was we were at the front of the hotel with a booming night club which went on til 3am ! Maybe ask for a room at the back of the hotel next time.

Had to ask for a mattress cover on the twin beds the room was in a dismal position frosted windows and a long hike from the lift especially for two 75 year olds, could not change told it was fully booked? The receptionist was usually not where you would expect and the bar was closed for the whole stay really a miserable experience and no butter at breakfast..just margarine! one good thing it was central in Chester and we where near to all we needed so we enjoyed the trip not the hotel.we won’t go back!
