Wrong Location for a Hotel

Posted 13-May-2016
Pros: good for walking into chester.
Location: Good Gin place down the street.
We had a nightmare getting to the hotel, even with Sat Nav and the post code, Chester's one way system is shocking and it turns out you need to get a barrier lifted to drive up the street the hotel is on - not that we ever found it. There's no parking (not mentioned on expedia when we booked). There is parking in a multistory that the hotel sort out the ticket for you - £9 a night! The hotel is on right next to pubs and due to loud air conditioning we opted for windows open and were woken at 3am by a fight outside. Convenient for the town, if you don't want to drive there or sleep. All our gripes are location related...In short the location is all wrong for a hotel.

Great location & friendly helpful staff. All requests for milk pillows etc. dealt with efficiently. Enjoyed the 2-4-1 cocktails before our night out & breakfast was good too. Perfect for our requirements.

Pros: Super central location, clean and friendly.
Cons: One of the breakfast waitresses needs a little more training.
Location: Central-in easy reach of station, shops, river, cathedral.
Super friendly staff - especially on the reception desk and in the bar.

Don't stay here. Dirty and out of date.

This hotel needs some love. Out of date decor and wifi situation was confusing and hard to login. Once I logged in, service was terrible. I took a shower and when I got out with wet feet and walked out of the bathroom and back in, the bathroom floor was filthy...the carpet must have been dirty and the dirt showed from my tracked water onto it then back into the bathroom. I would not recommend this hotel. Spend the extra 50 Euro and stay at the Grosvenor next door. Parking was confusing and when I had my ticket validated, it didn't work and I had to pay twice.

Lovely hotel, shame about the night club!!

Booked the hotel for my mum and stepdad. Everything was lovely apart from the nightclub underneath. They didn't get any sleep until after the music stopped at 3:50!! Should really warn people about this

handy town centre hotel for short stay

Posted 11-Feb-2016
Pros: central location
Cons: downstairs reception is a bit hidden away
Location: nice high street to explore, close to Cathedral which is v. impressive
Room very clean, recently refurbished. Small, as this is an older building, but lots of cupboard space, spare towels etc. Restaurant and bar good, food promptly delivered and tasty. Breakfast pricey but then all hotels do this so one shouldn't be surprised.

Great location

Posted 08-Feb-2016
Pros: Lovely big room and good atmosphere.
Cons: Shut the night club.
Location: Plenty shops restaurants and pubs can't go wrong.
We stayed on a Saturday night our room was a good size and very clean. We were offered breakfast at a reduced rate of £25, should have bee £35 which I think is very expensive for two people. Staff were very friendly and the location very central, with multi storey around the corner for £10 a day. When we arrived we just dropped our bags and went straight out. We arrived back at the hotel around 12.30 am to find out that there was a night club next door, and the front of hotel people were stood smoking and shouting. It was very unpleasant to see and worried that all the noise would keep us awake. We decided to go into the hotel bar and thoroughly enjoyed a cocktail and a good chat with folk. We went to bed around 1.30am and from our room 313 you could here the noise outside but it wasn't as bad as expected. We soon nodded off and had a very comfortable nights sleep. The night club doesn't belong to the hotel, and it's a shame really because if you are on first or second floor you would be disturbed badly. To sum up its a lovely hotel with good staff in a good location just make sure you get a room on top floor.
