Great hotel, 5 min taxi to Chester centre, great Starbucks coffee and bar service. Rooms brand new. Doesn't look much from the outside but lovely inside.

Clean hotel nice staff

Posted 17-Oct-2016
On first impressions we thought it was going to be an excellent stay frindly staff , spacious room , good facilities , nice decor , clean , but was masively let down by a poor nights sleep bed far to hard and pull out bed mattress thin uncomfortable , the stay was only two nights and don't think I could have stayed any longer with very poor sleep .

Very friendly staff and comfy bed. Hotel was a little dated, but the shower was excellent and the room was spacious. Wifi was okay but not great.

Good accommodation as we were 'in transit'

Posted 05-Sep-2016
Pros: It was clean and served our purpose
Cons: Ashtrays in the grounds as smokers just chucked cigarette butts near the doors
Location: Walled city of Chester a Park and Ride trip away with regular bus service, plenty of places to eat and see in Cheste
Stayed here as a stop over and for a quick visit to explore Chester. Close to Park and Ride facilities so great for getting into the city

The hotel was in ideal location to visit Chester and Chester Zoo. It was clean with good facilities. The staff were very friendly. The fact kids eat free when the aldults dine was an unexpected bonus. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend the hotel.

Confortevole. Ottimi i servizi. Unica pecca è la lontananza dal centro al quale si accede solo in macchina.

Room was clean and tidy but there was a damp smell noticeable on entry probably the result of the bathroom extractor fan being defective. The loo in the foyer had the seat held on by a piece of wood and there was no loo roll, soap or paper towels in any of the dispensers.

Business users beware: Awful WiFI & Mobile signal

Posted 25-Jul-2016 on Hotels
One night on a business stopover, intending to get some work done, which we could not without travelling into town to use a Coffee Shop wifi. Mobile signal on both EE and O2 is poor in this area, but we didn't even think of that when booking because Free WiFi was advertised at this hotel. Free it may be, but it was totally unusable, even for email. I had a 12MB attachment to download and it failed to, the entire stay. Completely inappropriate for a hotel of this, supposedly trustable, brand to let down business travellers (and everyone else for that matter) in this way. We raised the issue with the hotel staff (who were all very nice, incidentally), and they responded that it was a common complaint and that they were apparently doing something about it. We won't be visiting another Holiday Inn in future as it created a massive headache for us. Holiday Inn: WIFI IS NOT A LUXURY IN 2016 - IT'S A NECESSITY!!!
