Nice hotel, Great location

Posted 21-Jul-2017
Great location- close to train station and 100 bus route bus stop. Zoo & park just a short walk away. Plenty of excellent restaurants about the area. Fridge in room a bonus. Supermarket close by also (Ekeda). If you forget any essential toiletries, hotel will supply. Our stay there was during hot weather & Air con not so effective especially at night. Overall a great hotel.

Central location

Posted 01-Jul-2017
Pros: Centran location.
Cons: For us the hotel met all our needs
Location: Central position and close to shops, restaurants and zoo.
Excellent position close to shops and zoo. We didn't use any of the hotel facilities preferring to eat the local specialities in the numerous restaurants close by. Very easy to explore the city using public transport and the various city tour buses.

Excellent location

Posted 27-Jun-2017
Pros: Very comfortable room, well equipped, with tea and coffee facilities.
Cons: No mini bar - instead you are directed to vending machines in the hotel corridor. Not a problem, but would be nice to have the option to use mini bar
Location: Excellent central location, and close to trains, buses.
Very good location in Berlin, close to u-bahn (Wittenbergplatz), KaDeWe department store, and close to shops, bars and restaurants of the Ku'damm.

Overall Nice Stay but Could Have Been Better

Posted 12-May-2017 on Hotels
Booked two rooms at the hotel and stayed there in May. Overall the rooms are quite comfortable and clean and the breakfast is really great (many choices and high quality). Didn't use the pool a lot as the water were quite cold. Moreover the hotel is very close to bus stops and the Wittenbergplatz U-Bahn station. There were only two issues: 1 - The service. Most of the front desk receptionists didn't speak English very well and often said they "don't know" when asked simple questions and that we should try again later asking the same question (probably because the shift would change). The only helpful people were the shift managers who were great, spoke good English and were quick to help with any question. I think it's a minimum that in a 4.5 stars hotel you would find employees who can speak good English. 2. One side of the hotel is facing a construction site. You have a lot of annoying noise from 7am until 5pm. If you plan to sleep late or have a short siesta, you'll have an issue with the noise.

Sofa bed

Posted 02-May-2017 on Hotels
I had booked a normal double room and actually had a sofa bed as my bed. It was very uncomfortable! The next morning I spoke to the very nice woman at the reception she changed my room and gave me complimentary breakfast for both days (I hadn't booked including breakfast). I definitely appreciated the way they handled it, but I found it slightly disappointing that they do not inform people of the fact that they may be sleeping on a sofa bed while booking. I think having a full bed is a minimum expectation for most hotel guests.
