Poor start but got better
check in poor as reception was closed on sunday. They said they tried to contact us but failed to get through. Eventually got code for security gate and code to get room key from safe. Floor of our room very noisy. On the plus side nice heated outdoor pool and great hamman. Staff very apologetic next day

The accommodation was good. It would be helpful if we had been told that we would need to provide some cleaning items and the town of Marans whilst it could be much prettier and has great potential this is not being utilised and there are very few places where you can get a meal. It was useful that there is a Super U very close by.

Spacious accomodation
We arrived after the opening hours, when we phoned the staff for arrangement they were very helpful and organised so we could enterthe premises and collect keys. This was no trouble. We spent a week in a well equipped gite. The place was quiet and the atmosphere relax. Close to the supermarket and the town centre, the river to book a boat trip. Good value apartment
Great complex near La Rochelle, good size apartment, very clean. Peaceful, free parking, great swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Situated next to supermarket. Only shame is no evening entertainment, but would stay again.

Fantastic place
We had a great overnight stay here on the way from Calais to our destination further south. The apartment was really clean, very comfy beds and everything you could need in a small kitchen. Our apartment slept 6 ; a double bed, bunk beds in a separate room and a small double sofa bed which we didn’t use. The pool area was very clean. Pool was heated and there were lots of sun beds available. My husband used the sauna and steam room which were free of charge, and said they were great! We enjoyed a stroll around the little town, stopped off at the super u which is about 50m from the hotel to stock up on dinner items, and then sat by the river which is on the doorstep with a bottle of wine. A really lovely stay :)

Good hotel with facilities
We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was quite large as there was a lounge/dining area/kitchenette with fridge, dishwasher, hob and microwave, 2 bedrooms and shower/wc room. You need to remember to clean the kitchen area before you leave, as well as remove used bed linen, but the staff were lovely and helpful, and gave us all the info when we checked in on what we needed to do before we left. There is a Super U supermarket a couple of mins walk so easy to buy your own food rather than eat out. The hotel has a large outside heated pool, sauna, steam room and small gym. We used the pool and steam room (good for your health!) and gym. My only minor "issue" is that the gym could have better equipment, as there are only 5 pieces of very old and tired equipment (2 x exercise bikes, 2 x steppers and a rowing machine) and not all worked as expected. No free weights, bench, dumbells, barbells etc. If more modern and varied equipment were provided it would be great. Free parking and wifi, although we had trouble getting the wifi to work and in the end just used our mobile data. So apart from the wifi and gym equipment, overall a good stay and we would go there again.

Convenient
We stayed here for a few days as we traveled from one holiday base to another. Only 1/2 hour from La Rochelle and next to a supermarket made this base very convenient. The rooms were clean but the beds were not that comfortable and I ended up sleeping on the sofa. There were a limited number of pans, so it was difficult to self-cater. The kids however had fun in the pool and it felt very safe letting them wander around the site.

Handy supermarket, very friendly helpful reception staff, clean apartment and swimming pool, quiet place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of La Rochelle, v. pleasant port and lots of access to canal walkways.

Convenient to town and river boats
Lovely apartment, walking distance to town restaurants and supermarket. Great for pool and tennis court onsite. Air conditioning handy. Bit noisy one of the mornings when apartment behind being cleaned and 6.30! Could do with more cups and some plates etc.

Exactly what we wanted - some where that we could relax and make our own meals when we didn't want to go out. Apartment was clean however shower was looking a little old. Towels had marks on and we found some hairs on the pillows that were not ours. Pool and poolside are spotless and well maintained. The only advice I would give is to request an apartment on the top as you can hear everything if you are underneath including television sound. Not all people are considerate when walking about at 2am.

Good apartment hotel in Marans
Booked the hotel wanting to be able to visit La Rochelle, have a swimming pool for the kids and be able to park easily as driving down through France to the South. The hotel allowed us to do all these things. It is worth noting that Marans is a nice little town just over 30 minutes drive away from La Rochelle (I didn't fully appreciate this when booking). I believe the hotel has recently been taken over and they are in the process of making further improvements to the hotel such as opening a restaurant on site. There are however some nice restaurants only a short walk from the hotel next to one of Marans many canals so this wasn't a problem for us. The apartment itself was functional, very well equipped and clean. Our children enjoyed playing in the hotels swimming pool which had a toddler pool as well. We were able to park right next to our apartment which was ideal. Marans itself is a nice place to spend a few hours, there are places to hire boats to explore the canals around the town and there is a supermarket close to the hotel making getting provisions such as fresh bread in the morning simple.

Stayed for vacation with the family. Two adults and two children worked well. Kids were in a bunk bed. Only some minor problems due to sloppy painters: door lock on outside of bathroom (kind of funny), main light switch did not work, no place to keep non-refrigerated foods, thin walls (concerning sound). As with many inexpensive French hotels, the wireless is pathetic. Part of the apartment is out of range, the rest is unreliable and has very poor bandwidth. This can be an advantage on vacation. Depends on your point of view...

Good place to stop over.
It`s not a hotel as such, but our studio apartment was clean and adequate in most ways. Maybe some soaps or even a coffee-maker for overnight stayers like ourselves would be helpful, though I know many if not most would be staying longer. It would be excellent for a family. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would call again.

It was great, better would have only been the option to use fitness and pool before 10am in the morning! It was only a stop but with a supermarket around the corner there was no problem to find something quick and easy or more complicated! Great for families

While the room sizes were okay, there's a lack of care within them. There was mould in a couple of our rooms and the staff seemed more concerned at getting you out of the door than helping you. The pools were okay and there was never too few sunbeds. They're building some new apartments at the moment and I feel that this is where the investment is going rather than on staff and upkeep of the existing ones. There's nothing much in Marans, so I would only recommend a base for a night or two at most.

We had a wonderful time and Marans is a lovely peaceful little town where we were made to feel welcome by everyone we met. The accommodation staff were great and were very helpful with tourist information and cheerful all the time.

Nice modern, comfy apartments for our overnight stay. However, arriving on a Sunday reception was closed none of the helplines were in operation and in the end we had to get help from an outgoing guest to open the gate and get our keys out of a safe. Which took the best part of an hour after a days driving! Great apartments but either hotels.com or the apartments really messed up with giving us the required information.

Hidden Gem
Don't let the shabby chic exterior fool you into thinking it's a run down place. Inside the rooms / suites are up to date facilities, ensuites etc. Rooms were very clean and comfy and the air con was a blessing. Glad to have it. Much relief after much hotter weather in the south with no air con!!! The only lacking part was a kettle. Would definately stay there again.

Park Suites Marans
Very clean and nice apartment for 6 persons, but typically of the french, small details such as the fridge door being handed in such a way that the dining table could only be used comfortably by three people (when opposite handing would have solved the problem) alwys irritate. Not cheap, but very convenient for La Rochelle and Ile de Re.

Okay for a short stay near La Rochelle
We wanted an apartment and that's what it was - two storey building arranged round a central car park. Location-wise it's on the outskirts of Marans, a bit of a two horse town where one of the horses had died. Behind the Super U so very convenient for self catering. It had a dishwasher. The Expedia information is incorrect, the Reception opening hours are much shorter out of main season, I would make sure you've got the out of hours contact numbers with you as there's nobody there after 8pm. 20 mins to la Rochelle out of season, so quite good. The restaurant and pool aren't open out of season either so beware. If you're self catering there is only a hob, no oven and in common with French facilities there's no kettle.

The apartments were very good standard, although a little noisy (footsteps and moving around) if you are on the ground floor. Modern with good facilities and spacious. Super U supermarket down the end of the road open every day - even Sun am. Could do with a few more plug sockets. Pool was very nice but un heated. Reception is closed on Sundays - beware!! You should note that you will be required to clean the apartment at the end of your stay or pay 40 - 50 euros. They provide mop and brooms to do this. About 40 mins drive to La Rochelle.

Good for a stopover
Quite a characterless place, but clean and comfortable and good for a night or two stopover. I wouldn't want to stay longer though. Close to a river with boats to hire and very close to a large supermarket. Just off the main road, so in a good location in terms of finding it and going elsewhere On departire, we had to be marched out military style and have our apartment checked for anything missing which made us feel very uncomfortable. This is standard practice at this accommodation and not something I have ever had to do before. Delayed us an hour on departure Overall - a nice pool and good for a stopover

Clim en panne. Nous avons du dormir dans un autre hotel à nos frais. La responsable nous a expliquer que les techniciens n'étaient pas disponibles pour réparer la clim mais a refuser de nous rebourser la chambre.

Logement agréable mais vieillissant.
Logement agréable, de bonne dimension, piscine propre et sauna en accès libre. Mais l'ensemble est vieillissant et mal entretenu (pied de table de cuisine casé, serrure forcée, donc porte condamnée ! L'entrée de notre logement pour 4 se faisait donc par notre chambre..., applique de la chambre cassée, ampoule HS dans le salon, lames de terrasse en bois très abîmées, etc). Le hammam ne fonctionne pas. Pour y passer une nuit je recommande ce logement car le prix est intéressant, mais pour une semaine je conseille de demander les logements restaurés (il y en a plusieurs)!
