Keep Looking

Posted 05-Nov-2017 on Hotels
Problems with rooms booked and rooms given. No hot water 2 out of 3 days. Asked to move to another hotel and told that the rooms would be similar to what we'd had and that the breakfasts would be free for the bother. Rooms were less than what we'd paid for, charged for breakfast. Multiple phone calls from other cities we continued to visit to finally get the discount for the troubles caused as promised. Staff were mostly always polite at both hotels but one didn't know what the other was saying and neither was willing to take charge and make a decision. Trip to Spain was wonderful; hotel stays in One Shot Luchanna and One Shot Recolettes were not.

Keep looking!

Mixed up rooms between friends staying on different room choices. No hot water - suggested we transfer to another On Shot location. Promised compromises; did not follow through with what was offered.

Staff went out of their way

Posted 16-Oct-2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Everything.
Cons: It's great the way it is
Location: Restaurants, major corporate headquarters, bus and metro services to all parts of the city.
We arrived in the early morning with a reservation for that evening. The hotel staff said we will have a room ready for you within the hour! Excellent service when it came time to leave. They held our bags and helped with them when we picked them up before leaving Madrid. Rooms are on the small side, but they are fully equipped and have excellent beds and bathrooms. Very pleasant neighborhood with restaurants within an easy walk. Metro station is at the door and bus service to the main center of the city is across the street. Very convenient in a wonderful neighborhood Chamburi of older exclusive apartment buildings and up to date offices.

Overall good. Breakfast and TV need improving.

Breakfast can be improved. There aren't any English speaking programs in TV. All are translated into Spanish. No language option on TV.

Most comfortable beds!

Posted 11-Oct-2017
We stayed here 2 nights with 2 other couples. The location was great, and the rooms were wonderful. These were the most comfortable beds on our 12 day vacation! The hotel staff could not have been nicer. On our last day we had to leave for a flight at 5:30 am, and they had a breakfast to go all prepared for us. Only drawback is that it is on a busy street and the bars don't close until the morning, so there is some noise late at night.

Not a bad hotel for a Madrid City Break.

Posted 24-Sep-2017
Pros: price, 4 start rating and relatively close location to the city centre. The hotel is right next to the Bilbao Metro
Cons: Staff Helpfulness
Location: Relatively close location to the city centre.
I went for this hotel on the basis of the price, 4 start rating and relatively close location to the city centre. The hotel is right next to the Bilbao Metro station. Check in wasn’t a breeze as we had requested a twin room, but on arrival into the room we found that it was a Double. I went down to bring this to their attention, but was told that there were no twin rooms available, but there were balcony twin rooms available but we would need to pay extra if we want one as they were more expensive rooms. As this wasn’t our fault, I would have thought we should have been given a twin room if one was available regardless of its price given that it was a hotel error. We were told that they would have something available tomorrow, so we could pack up in the morning, leave our bags in the room and housekeeping would move our bags to the twin room when ready – that’s what we did, but not ideal. The room itself was fine, no carpets, but the bed was comfortable, everything was clean and the en-suite was terrific! Very spacious, complimentary toiletries, and again very clean. There was also a tv in the room, desk chair, safe etc. We didn’t opt for the buffet breakfast so can’t really comment on that apart from the fact it seemed very expensive and I didn’t notice anyone else having I either. So asides from the aforementioned disappointing start, no other complaints from me - not a bad hotel for a Madrid City Break.

Good location, nice room, contemporary style. Unfortunately air con in daughters room let off terrible smell, staff opened balcony door through day which helped but smell definitely there once door shut.

Unsatisfied

Posted 06-Sep-2017
We were given the only room on 1st floor, very noisy, you can hear everybody walking on street and cars. Bathroom makes a liking noise. It is a dark hole at the end of the hallway, It looks like an empty space they had and converted into a room for extra profit. The shower had a horrible plastic curtain. We asked to be moved and were told for the price we paid there were no other rooms available. We had to pay money extra per night for an upgrade. The receptionist acted like she didn't care at all, she was like what ever you decide to do let me know. We paid for our room with months in advance and we were very tired, and in a different country otherwise, I would have walked away and go find another hotel. There is nothing worse than the feeling of you getting scammed or something like it and the profound indifference of the person who was supposed to help you (receptionist). Not what we expected of a "Hotel", you expect things like that from a pension or bed and breakfast place but from a hotel. So if you go these place and get room 001 do not take it.
