Stayed for 2 nights to visit Česky Krumlov by train (tourism on a budget). Very fancy digs for a seasoned backpacker like me! Always feel under dressed in these grand old venues. Beautiful historic hotel dating from the middle ages (extensively restored and enlarged). Nothing is too much trouble, breakfast very decent and included. Quite possibly the fanciest lobby I've encountered. Rooms lacking modern comforts (eg air con, usb charging sockets). Electric fan provided, which together with 2 functioning windows sufficed for the warm July weather. Location perfect, on the main square, 5 mins to the waterfront parks, 10 to the Albert hypermarket and train/bus stations. Would happily stay again and recommend to others.

Good hotel but needs some upgrading
Good and comfortable hotel with helpful staff and excellent location. Infrastructure needs a bit of attention. The hot water supply is somewhat erratic and the room we had was subject to 3-minute rumbles from an adjacent pump or vent every hour day and night.

The hotel is an older European style which was nice though it had some limitations regarding charging cell phones, no usb. Our bathroom had a tub with shower which was challenging without a curtain or door. Otherwise nice and clean. Our room was on rear of building with no view of anything nice. Breakfast buffet we enjoyed with a good variety of hot and cold items, fresh breads and rolls, juices and coffee and tea. Hotel is on the main square. Must visit the Black Tower at the corner to get a view of the square and surrounding area from above.

Fab place in a fab city
I had a wonderful stay at Gran Hotel Zvon. The location was amazing, not just being right on the town square, but was within walking distance of the train and bus stations (15 mins) as well as Budweiser brewery (25 mins). The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the free minibar was beyond expectations what with being replenished every day. I found the bed incredibly comfy, and was pleasantly surprised at what i got for my money, as my budget didnt cover the higher priced rooms, but i still got a wonderfully spacious room with bathtub which was welcomed after walking around all day. I may not have got a room overlooking the square but that isnt what its all about..i had a good nights sleep every night, i was in a fab central location, close to so many good places to eat including Solnice and Masne Kramy (amazing food and drinks in both places) so i really couldnt have chosen a better place for my base while in Ceske Budejovice.

4th of July weekend
As the website displays the location, it’s convenient for shopping and sightseeing. The Hotel itself is Old but kept modern and clean. Professional staff with all Business attitude. Don’t expect a warm welcome or farewell! It’s “Just Business”. Rent a room, spend your money and then leave!

Over all good. Just the view from the window of the room was aiming to the opposite wall, there was also ladder attached to the roof around (for maintenance or so) but it makes us feel a bit less secure) and AC aggregate of another room on outside wall was bit noisy.

The hotel is 3 separate buildings attached together so the interior feels like a confusing maze at times. The staff are aware of this issue and do their best to guide you through. They are also speaking German and English so communication was no issue. Silly note: they should add a toaster to the breakfast room. They served toast bread but no toaster for toasting 😧
