We got to know them throughout our staff and every interaction felt thoughtful and it was clear they truly cared about making our stay special. The food was another standout. Every meal was fresh, delicious and incredibly well prepared. Our room was perfect - recently renovated and very comfortable beds but also designed to capture the laid-back luxury of the area. We could even hear the waves from our room. And of course, the location itself is unbeatable. You can't get any closer to the beach (literally on it) and we loved the views. This place truly has something special. It’s the kind of spot you hesitate to rave about too loudly because you want to keep it a hidden gem, but it deserves the recognition. Cerritos itself is kinda weird. Felt like a pop-up beach town mixed with the days leading up to a festival? The pool was nice and big but lots of kids and screaming. The rooms were super bare bones. Only one night stand provided so I had to put my stuff on the floor next to my bed. No hanging rod or hangers in the closet. No light in the closet. No hooks anywhere except for one in the bathroom. A beach hotel with no hooks? The floor felt slimy all the time and the provided shampoo and soap was out of a dispenser that could have been in a truck stop restroom, very chemical smelling. Maybe saw some mouse poop on the floor and the bed a couple times? Didn't want to think about it. They also expected us to wear paper wrist bands during our stay? Very odd. Location on the beach was nice though, and we saw a ton of whales, which was awesome.
