"Excellent hotel and location, extra friendly staff"
Staff were amazing with my kids who were treated like royalty. Nice, clean rooms and location was great for all modes of transport. Would definitely stay there again.

"Perfect in every way "
The hotels location is a quick cab ride to most of Manhatten including the West side piers, the meat packing district and of course Central Park. The Mark's rooms are beautiful filled with great amenities such as the deep soaking tub. The only negative feedback was the hotel's room service seemed to be very choppy and pricey

"Royal Escape/Visit"
I came to NY for a visit with friends who were having a party with MiCasa Holiday on August 22, 2015. I always stay at this location when I come to NY because of the friendly staff, the location and easy access to the city. The location is a great place to meet other people from different parts of the world. In society now we need to understand each other more due to the wild times we're currently experiencing. Transportation is very easy around the YMCA as it is near Central Park, so one can do several things with proper planning. If you're looking for a 5-star hotel and then this is not the place for you, but if you're frugal and want clean and convenient accomodations, the Y is for you! The staff is super friendly and will try to do the very best to make your feel welcome. I can see why many international visitors come there to stay and to enjoy New York City. I witnessed a staff member go beyond his duties to explain on how to get a needed service to an international visitor. I was pleased to see that knowing how difficult it can be in a foreign land. YMCA, I will be back to stay again and keep up the good work!

"Great location in mid Manhatten"
Excellent for me. Older female needing reasonable price. Felt safe and fine with the small room, and those I met staying in hotel friendly; nice diverse group. Would stay again!

"Another way to enjoy NYC"
I visit NYC often. Usually I stay at regular hotel inside town, but this time I stayed here. I am glad I did. This hotel locates residential area by Central Park. Quiet area. Close to station. Building is antiequ, 1893, but well maintenance. Room is clean. It was like renting apt in high end. I will use this hotel again for sure!

"Nice B&B with just enough room"
We stayed one night during our short trip and, for the most part, things were really well for us. Customer service was great and checked us in right at 3:00pm. Immediately, though, we were looking to take a nap and unfortunately couldn't do that because our room was still being cleaned until 3:15pm and the rooms next to us were also being cleaned, loudly at that. The room was secure, offered a safe if we wanted to use it, and provided just enough amenities to get us through our stay - it's a simple room with simple offerings and it's what drew us to it's ease of use during our stay! When returning back that evening from our excursions, we were advised to stay on certain streets, as we were in the beginnings of Harlem - we are smart travelers and were aware of our surroundings but it's helpful to know that this area is a border between the end of Manhattan and the beginnings of East Harlem. When taking our showers, there were fresh towels but no washcloths to use - this would have been great to have been provided. Our sleep quality was the worst of our experience. If you plan on resting, bring earplugs. The building structure is very old and as a result very poor in sound proofing. We could hear every movement, every stair creak, every time another guest dropped something on the floor - and the pillow provided was so flimsy it couldn't help to cover our ears and reduce the silence. In the morning we woke to a perfect New York breakfast of fresh bagels and croissants.

Pocket Guide: New York Central Park Independent Hotels

Buildings crane above one another to claim views of Central Park, a piece of real estate valued at more than $528 billion. Surprises abound in its 843 acres. The grounds include a castle, a zoo, several lakes, and an Egyptian obelisk. A city that never sleeps needs its quiet time, too: Central Park has six designated “quiet zones,” including Strawberry Fields, the monument to John Lennon.
