The hotel are well maintained, but a great deal of the place is quite far from the beach, so much so that they arrange shuttle transport - we tended to walk instead, but beware, as the access to the beach is via a steep slope, walking back can be taxing. Some staff in the restaurant and at the reception fell well below professional standard. For instance, they allocated us a wrong room (furnished for a couple, not for a family of four) and then made us stay there overnight by not being able to fix the problem until 3pm following day. No apology or compensation were offered on their own initiative, but they took 20% off our final bill (about €60) when I asked on check-out. As for restaurant, don't expect to be served drinks in order of appearance - you may need to prompt the waiter more than once so as not to be ignored. Not really 5* either. On the positive side, the beach is nice and the staff on the beach are very good (but, and there is always a but, they charge €8 for regular and €25 for "VIP" sunbed set per day). The sea is mostly calm, but the weather is quite volatile. You should expect a couple of days of heavy rain and another 2-3 days with high wind and waves over a fortnight and we stayed between 24 July and 7 August, peak of the season, more or less. I can only imagine the volatility of the weather off peak. Lush vegetation testifies to the amount of rainfall anyway. Finally, the gym takes only 6 people at a time and needs to be booked. Not 5* experience.
