Stayed in room 402 for just one night, but really wished I could have stayed longer. The rooms were really huge with plenty of facilities such as a Nespresso machine (with complementary coffee!), a bath tub and walk-in closet. It's situated just across the road from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and walking distance to Teramachi and Nishiki market which are great places for shopping and finding good food. Staff was really helpful and recommended me a nearby restaurant for dinner. There are also plenty of information readily available from the information counter which was really helpful. 5 stars and would stay here again.

Excellent hotel, friendly staff, great facilities and a room large enough for the family. Only issue was location which was slightly out of the city centre, however the courtesy bus ran frequently and the cabs were relatively inexpensive to get you around, so not really that big of an issue.

Very nice hotel - quiet, great location. Food in hotel is very expensive especially in the lobby - sad because the lobby is a great place to relax, but the drinks and snacks or desserts are very expensive.

Uraraka Guest House is located by three convenient bus stops, making travel to and from the hotel easy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and all speak great English. The hotel was cozy and clean, and I appreciated the free breakfast breads and 1 bottled drink per day.
I stayed in a single room on the 4th floor and it was perfect for me, the only complaint I'd have is that the floors and bed were really squeaky so if I got up in the middle of the night I was worried I'd be disturbing other guests. But it wasn't that big of an issue at all really. This hotel is ideal for anyone who just wants a cozy place to sleep after long days of sightseeing.
I also liked that I had a TV, fridge, and free wifi! That made the stay extra convenient. I liked the hotel and the city so much I extended my stay by another day shortly after arriving. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Kyoto. :)
