Came here for 4 nights as a break from the chaos and bustle of our south east asia jaunt. This resort did not disappoint. Set in rain forest where rooms are on hill - have excellent views out on the beach/bay. Clean and well appointed rooms with balconies.
The staff is what sets Ambong Ambong apart from all of the other resorts, they are friendly, greet you by name and accommodating.
We had never been to Malaysia before and didn't really know what to expect. This place was one of the best on cenang beach and so close to all the restaurants and pubs. Wonderful rooms and great breakfast! If you want to stay on cenang beach, this hotel is a must!

Had a great 12 day stay here. The staff are all lovely food was well cooked and presented but felt alittle exspensive compared to other eating places in the area. Beautiful pools and gardens. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable.
Our only disapointment was the check in process. We arrived about 12.30 pm after an over night flight from NZ and then a 3 hour wait in LK for a conecting flight to Langkawai. But we still couldn't get in our room until 3pm. Even the offer of room to freshen up and change into beach wear would have been good. Understand its a large resort but our arrival time was out of our control due to flights ect abit of flexability for long haul travelllers would have been really welcome.
We had a fantastic stay at the Bon Ton. Loved the staff, the food, the pool, the villa. The villa is spacious and the bathroom huge. Beautiful breakfast is left in your room the night before, freshly baked bread and cakes, exotic fruits. Loved it. The staff are so friendly, welcoming you every time you come back. Fresh fruit by the pool every day. The town is around a four dollar ride away, worth it. It can be hot walking into town. Took a taxi to the cable car, what a great day. Beautiful views, and the oriental village has some good food. An island hopping tour, watching eagles feed, and swimming on some beautiful beaches was also a must.

Fantastic hotel. Staff was extremely friendly, the facilities were great, everything was simply picturesque. The only thing I would mention is that the internet wasn't always working in the room. Other than that, the experience was great and I would definitely stay again!

The hotel is near to a beach but with no facilities for laying in the sun/swiming on it (sunbeds, towels, etc.) Can do this by the pool of the hotel although the sunbeds would have needed a little more attention from the hotel staff. The rooms on the backside are close to a small forest like area between the hotel and the beach so you'll hear the birds in the morning.
We enjoyed the adiacent area with many options for eating out: Suncaffe and Tropical caffe were our favorites.
Cenang Beach is the most popular beach on the island of Langkawi, as well as the most developed. Offering almost 4 kilometers of tropical white sand, there's plenty of room to stretch your legs. Major resorts and hotels line the shore, and the area has a lively dining and social scene when the sun goes down. For families, Underwater World Langkawi aquarium features a 15-meter underwater tunnel.
