Cebu Hotel Guide - Romantic Hotels in Cebu, Philippines

This is an okay hotel but not great. Simple basic things just don't quite get there. First of all, the room: having a simple shower curtain in lieu of a door isn't an acceptable solution, privacy-wise or elegance-wise. Second of all, the way they have rigged their wifi is beyond annoying: there are different zones from different areas of the building, and you have to request a 3-hour code for each device any time you do to a different location. That's just not 2016, guys. Huge pain. Lastly, the service in the restaurant, Rita's, is abysmal. They don't visit your table periodically -- at all. Having to go find a waiter any time you want your drink refilled is just ridiculous, especially at what purports to be a nice hotel. Plus, some members of the wait staff just aren't experienced, and can't remember your order two seconds after you placed it. The simple fact of the matter is, this is a very inexpensively decorated building shell trying to position itself as a hip urban hotel but a forlorn corner of Cebu is not the same as New York. Lastly, what I fail to understand -- although this is the case with most Philippines hotels I guess -- is why there is so much paperwork. Checking in and out takes ten times as long as it should.

I liked my stay so much I have extended and rebooked on several occasions. Rooms with city view are fantastic! Also you have refrigerator and bar area for food and large closets. Bathroom conveniently small. The staff was accommodating to my business needs. Housekeeping could improve a bit. But overall for the money it is a deal. I will continue booking here at this price and expect things to get better. It is a Crown Regency property and I assume will be improved over time under their management. I liked the atmosphere and the stores at ground level. Good family atmosphere and plenty of beautiful ladyboys. Staff was professional most of the time. Only drawback is for better taxi service you have to walk down to street to catch a taxi. Overall, if you want a lot of bang for your money, book here. I only wish they offered free breakfast to all rooms not just premium ones. It's a good deal for budget minded. Best in downtown Cebu for the money.

There was this girl named LARA at roomservice who's extremely rude. When reported, she tried making excuses over the phone saying that she thought we're done so she hung up. Funny, we met her back on 5th floor. No smile, no greeting, same rudeness. We also work at a hospitality business and having this kind of employee is a liability. Lara clearly isn't happy with her job. The hotel and our experience was great. Would we come back? Yes Would we recommend this hotel? Yes We would also say, watch out for that rude, unhappy roomservice attendant girl named LARA and don't ever allow her to ruin your vacation experience lile what had happened to us.
