Amazing resort
Loved this resort. Very clean and so good service by all the staff in reception, kitchen and cleaning etc. Kitchen staff make a lot of effort for milk and gluten allergies with great options. Outdoor swimmingpool area is really nice too. Indoor pools (SPA) is not included in the price, its an 15 euro extra for one hour. Need to take a taxi to get there since there is no public bus nearby. Really recommended this resort even if you dont play golf and just wanna come and relax.

Beautiful course and fabulous food
Thought I would get in a couple of rounds while in Sicily. Had a wonderful stay here. The resort is a slightly older spot in a beautiful setting at base of Etna. The course was gorgeous - lava rock walls, olive groves, chestnut trees and vineyards, though a few of the holes were ridiculously narrow. Went with the dinner included package as the resort is somewhat isolated - the best food we had while in Sicily and we had some incredible meals. It was also an incredible value (we were in off season though the weather was perfect - go figure, Europeans always seem to vacation at the same times). Service was fabulous, generous pours of bourbon at the bar. The only negative would be a funky room setup and slightly worn and stained carpets. Maybe they should stick to stone or tile floors like all the other hotels in Sicily.

The location of this hotel is awesome if you are staying near Mount Etna. Especially if you like golf of wineries. I am from NYC and it was just hard for me to adjust being in the middle of nowhere and not being able to get whatever you want whenever you want. For instance if the restaurants are closed in the hotel there is nowhere to get food or even a snack. No vending machines or anything. I woke up jet lagged at 3 AM and was very hungry. Other than that the lady at the front desk was awesome and a huge help. The bartender was funny and cool. The pool is beautiful, and I wish I got to play a round of golf because the course actually looked really nice. Try their white sparkling wine which they make on the property, it is delicious.

Stayed at ll Picciolo for a few nights whilst exploring the Etna and surrounding area. Hotel very comfortable and clean. Visit the local town of Castiglione Di Sicilia of an evening for aperitivo or dinner. Breakfast which was included was very good and staff attentive and helpful. Would stay here again. More beds are required around the pool though.

Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & Spa was a great place to stay, and both myself and partner were very happy with our stay. The hotel was spacious, clean and very nice to stay in. The standard room had a very comfy bed, we had great views looking out to Mt. Etna and surrounding hills, with a clean ensuite and good shower. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and more than happy to assist us with any of our needs and answer any of our questions. The only thing we were slightly disappointed by was the evening meal portion sizes and the few cooked breakfast options. The food we did have both in the evening and for breakfast was very tasty and presented nicely, but there could have been more of it in the portion sizes and more options.

Property was beautiful, area was beautiful, staff was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Golf was great, good challenging course! Small towns not far from resort to shop and walk around, I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a nice relaxing time away!!

Nice place with good views.
Nice resort, well maintained and with great views. My only trouble was the food where the breakfast was ok but the dinner looks only good on a paper and was not tasty at all.

7 rooms together which was convenient, but overlooking the kitchen smoking area and an ugly courtyard that needed paintiing. The air conditioning unit for the hotel was so loud, conversation was difficult. 2.5 Euros for a swim cap and 1 Euro for a towel to swim in the too cold pool - really??? Modern art naked woman pictures decorated the walls - with all the lovely scenery Sicily offers - why?

Nice hotel.a bit out of the way. Breakfast disappointing but evening meal was good. Rooms clean and comfortable. Air conditioning inadequate, it blew a trickle of warm air. Pool area nice and tidy.

Thumbs up for golf near etna
Glad to find this golf resort near the area I was visiting, hotel was great, but course was slightly out of shape. Fine, just not very polished. Still, I was very happy to play it and several holes were impressive and challenging, especially 3 (blind tee shot, like totally blind!) and 11, which pinches off to a few feet wide, wow. Good fun, good value.

Lovely Stay!
Pleasant facilities, great staff and fantastic scenery, remote enough to be away from the hubbub but near enough to not be too far out (assuming you have the use of a car). Food was fantastic in both the Hotel Restaurant and the Golf Club. Overall a very nice stay, would not hesitate to recommend this place. The bar manager, Giuseppe was particularly friendly and helpful during our stay, spoke great English and really made our stay all the more pleasant.

Very nice room, grounds, and building. Extensive buffet breakfast. These are the Goods. The Bads are: 1) Wanted to bill me personally again at check-out, even though I had paid Hotels.com two months prior (they finally figured out they were to charge Expedia, the Hotels.com parent company). 2) Want to swim in the pool? Well, you need a swimming cap that they'll sell you for a few euros--this is just nickle-and diming. And the minibar charges are high. 3) Mostly impersonal staff. 4) It is in the middle of nowhere.

Overall ok, golf was very good but difficult course that makes you hire a buggy. staff could be friendlier. So glad we had half board, as food was not worth the prices on the menu, but it was value for money at the half board rates. air conditioning was off in October even though it was warm. A few uncomfortable sleepless nights.

We really enjoyed our time here. We were so well looked after from the minute we arrived until we left. Nothing was any trouble for the staff. Breakfast was very nice. Facilities were excellent . Our only complaint would be that our room was near a lift and we could hear it clunking throughout the night.

This hotel has everything if you like to play golf on an amazing golf course with striking views of Mt Etna, or great spa, pool and fitness facilities, superb restaurant, large and unique collection of Maria Leonardi Pennisi paintings in the rooms and every bare wall in this handsomely designed building in the Roman Villa style.

A magnificent hotel
Il Picciolo was a very clean and luxurious hotel that we thought was great value. It was a perfect location for spending a day doing donkey trekking at Mt Etna. The staff were so helpful, giving us great dinner recommendations and we spent quite a while chatting to the very friendly bartender in the lobby.

Quiet inland location.
This Hotel is in a lovely location near the town of Linguaglossa. It has a great outdoor swimming pool, with changing facilities and showers. Outside the hotel has views of Mount Etna and a well maintained golf course. The staff were very professional and helpful, even though some of them do not speak very good English. Breakfast was from 7.00am to 10.00 am and we were provided with a good choice of food. As we were only staying on a bed and breakfast basis, we only had one evening meal which was lovely, but a little bit pricey. We had a double room which was very roomy even with a king size bed. It was kept very clean by the staff and the en suite included both bath and shower. I would definitely reccommend this hotel.

A very nice hotel
An excellent hotel set against a stunning backdrop of Mount Etna and next to an exclusive golf course. Well appointed room, with good facilities and air conditioning. Our room overlooked part of the golf course and had a shared balcony. Very nice swimming pool. We did use the restaurant on our first night. The food was of reasonable quality but a large party of schoolchildren were also in residence so it was not exactly a peaceful experience! We had to wait a long time for service and the portions were small. Free WiFi is available but there is a problem with its compatibility with iPad and iPhone connectivity so we were unable to take advantage. The hotel is a little off the beaten track, but this allows for a very peaceful and relaxing stay and a there is plenty to see in the vicinity if you have transport.

Excellent 4*Hotel with good facilities right beside il piccillo golf course. The Hotel was let down by very poor quality food at both Breakfast and especially at Dinner. The green fees for the Golf Course were very expensive, especially when we realised very soon after starting the very poor condition it was in. This is a pity as it is set in a beautiful valley location surrounded by beautiful vegitation, fruit trees and vines. A real oasis. Needs a lot of money spent on it to compare to others we played in Sicily.

Very odd experience!
Our experience at this hotel was surreal! We had booked the junior suite but when we saw the room we were very disappointed as there was no outside area and felt very enclosed. Considering this place is in the middle of nowhere we would have gone stir crazy if we had had to sit in that room all the time! As a result we asked to see alternative rooms and were shown the suite and an ordinary room. The ordinary room was right next door to the suite and identical apart from the lack of a small sitting room so we opted to move to the ordinary room, despite having paid for the junior suite. Other travelers have remarked about the hotel not being busy and we found this the case too. Unfortunately this was somewhat eerie as there was just no noise at all! We ate there one night and were the only people in the restaurant later being joined by two other couples. There was no music playing and it was a huge room with wall length mirrors which just made you feel very lonely and uncomfortable! The food was bad too so we ended up eating out for lunch the next day and buying rolls and cheese from the supermarket to eat on our patio in the evening! Also the restaurant was overrun with ants crawling all over the floor around our table - most off putting. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere. You cannot walk to anywhere for something to eat or drink and given the poor standard of food in the hotel this was a major weakness which has led to our overall rating of 2.

Wow, what a find!
Fantastic 5 star find and Expedia special rate was an incredible bonus but you need a car to get there and around. Once off the highway it's one road but you've got 30 minutes of climbing with lots of turns. Plan to get there in the daytime until you learn the road. Elegant and modern building, full spa, outdoor pool and beautifully appointed rooms and common areas. Surrounded by golf course and vineyard perched on the northface of Mt. Etna volcano. You see the steam rising and snow on the cap. 45-60 minutes from Taormina (don't miss it) Giardini Naxos(the beaches city).Plenty to chose for breakfast and all staff friendly and helpful. A/C; good size washroom; good beds; fridge and mini bar; flastscreen LCD etc. and our room had a patio with good privacy. Place is absolutely spotless. Some of the artwork was "interesting". They offer dinner but we ate out.

Hotel was simply stunning.Excellent standard of furnishing staff very friendly and helpful would highly recommend.Will definately be returning in the future for a longer stay. Couldn`t fault anything about the hotel just could not understand why the hotel was massively underbooked ?? Can only presume it is in an undiscovered area of Sicily although Taormina was only 20 minutes away.I would finally like to say that is the best hotel i have ever stayed in and i have been travelling for the past 25 Years to various parts of Europe!!

Un hôtel plus que surprenant.. pensé à l’économie pour la rentabilité du proprio mais pas pour le confort client ! Le plus absurde, la piscine - la plus froide que nous ayons eu durant tout le séjour en Sicile.. et le plus ridicule : l’hôtel impose de porter un bonnet ! Bien sûr on ne vous prévient pas mais on vend les bonnets a la piscine. Pas une piscine de resort sympa mais une piscine entourée d’une bande de touristes ridicule avec leurs bonnets... ah et bien que l’hotel soit énorme, il n’est doté que de 5 ou 6 parasols. Pour le Spa.. Payant !.. meme approche.. bonnets ridicule et piscine froide.. douche froide.. sauna ok, Hammam en panne. Autre experience, le petit déjeuner. Quand les croissants ne sont pas brûlés et sec, ils sont bons. Néanmoins pour le café, armez vous de patience.. là encore Une Seule machine à disposition. Qui fait les café un par un. D’une lenteur record. Lorsqu’elle n’est pas en panne.. pour le buffet, prévoyez un peu d’attente également, une seule personne au service. Ça ne manque pas de personnel, cela manque d’organisation. Autre économie, dans la chambre.. produit d’accueil bas de gamme et serviette tellement fine qu’on aurait dit des nappes. Dernier point douteux.. l’art choisi dans l’hôtel, ne venez pas si vous êtes déprimés :) Mais ça peut valoir le détour. Le personnel est bien ! Allez-y si vous rayonnez autour, c’est un bon point de chute pas trop cher - mais ne vous attendez pas une expérience resort sympa.

Contesto molto gradevole per una visita all'Etna
Bella struttura in un contesto molto gradevole. Camera spaziosa e letto comodo, necessità tuttavia di maggiore manutenzione. Colazione ottima.

Bella struttura, in particolare la piscina. Tutti i dipendenti sono stati molto premurosi e gentili. Ottima la cucina ed il servizio del ristorante.
