Walking distance to everything

Posted 24-Mar-2017
Just down the street off the pier but not noisy. They have a courtesy shuttle for drop off and pick ups. Can't miss the hotel it's YELLOW. They allowed us to leave our items while we walked around since we arrived 5hours early. We got a bite to eat, next thing I knew they were calling to do a courtesy early check in. They have a continental breakfast every morning which was nice.

Okay

Posted 21-Mar-2017
I wasn't so happy with my overall experience with this hotel, the people there seem nice but it wasn't genuine I can tell. The guy told us that he had put us in a king size bed instead of a queen I guess that was suppose to make us feel special. Well I didn't because for one the room that I booked was suppose to have a microwave I'm usually okay without it but don't have it in the website while someone is booking then. Also when I took a shower the water was luke warm I probably took a 10 min shower that was not nice at all. When I mentioned it to the guy in the front desk he acted as if it was normal like I was suppose to know, I'm sorry but I am a guest not someone who is living here and knows the situation. He told me that I just had to keep running the water until it got hot. First off don't you think I did that I don't think I am that clueless. It's just the people there were nice but just not genuine at all I saw right through them come on people I know the island is small but at least be genuine to the guests that you do have on an off season. I for one want my money back. Definitely not satisfied.

Excellent location

Posted 18-Mar-2017
Pros: Friendly staff, once I located the night manager and they realized that I was not a "No show." (There was evidently some mixup about my phone number)
Cons: Get tighter windows on the back side of the building due to noisy equipment on the roof of the store across the alley.
Location: The location is excellent, right near shopping & the harbor, although I was there on business & sadly had no time to play tourist.
I had some trouble with check-in, but staff was friendly, and all went well once the communications were cleared up. Don't check in late, as the front desk closes. At breakfast, I overheard a guest ask if there was any jelly. The desk clerk said, "No," but he would get some. He went across the street and returned with two jars of jelly and/or jam from the grocery store. Wow!

Close to beach and in the heart of town

Posted 16-Mar-2017
Pros: It's walking convenience to town and beach. It was close to shops and restaurants.
Cons: It gave the feeling of cutting corners everywhere it could.
Location: shops, beach, restaurants. In the heart of town.
The room was clean and comfortable, but small for the price. The staff was terrific. However, there was no elevator and the rooms are on the second and third floors. It was very noisy all night long--inside and out. No coffee pots in rooms. Breakfast was bleak.

Decent Hotel

Posted 13-Mar-2017
Pros: Nice location. Easy walk from the ferry, Descanso beach, and many other places on the island.
Cons: Windows and locks on the doors.
Location: Mini golfing, zip lining, tours, snorkeling, kayaking, etc.
The hotel was nicely located in the center of the town. Easy walking distance to the golf course, beach, and nice restaurants. The hotel itself was not the greatest. For the price you pay, there could have been some improvements. Our first room was very spacious but since we were located right above the alley we could hear everything that went on below so we asked for a room change. The second room they put us in was next door. It was a little better, noise wise, but the room itself was significantly smaller. However, on our last day we were woken up by heavy construction drilling and trucks beeping. It's such a shame that these windows cant cancel out the outside noise. The door lock on the rooms is your traditional lock that requires a key. Sometimes our lock was jammed so we had to push and wiggle the key so it would unlock.

Bates Motel

Actually not a bad place. Just reminded me a of spooky hotel with all the twists, turns and uneven floors. I probably will not stay there again. Just a preference.
