"Lovely small resort but better if you have a car"
Our room was described as a family suite but was in fact a huge and very smart apartment on two floors with two ensuite bathrooms, two bedrooms, really comfortable beds and everything you could want. We added breakfast to our rate for a very small supplement and it was magnificent.
The hotel is clean and inviting with very friendly staff. The room was basic but clean and offered all I needed, with air con, tea and coffee-making facilities (unlike some other local hotels), a really powerful shower and very comfortable bed. The WiFi can only be accessed in the foyer but is free to use (also unlike other hotels in the area).
The breakfast was good, with fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, fresh bread and also cooked options.
The staff on the front desk (may have been the manager) were always very friendly and happy to help wherever they could.
The hotel is in a great place close to amenities and beeches but far enough away to offer a relaxing break. The hotel and food were excellent, I will certainly be returning. The staff were very considerate and attentive. The hotel has lovely grounds with each room having its own garden/patio with sunbeams if you don't fancy sitting by the pool.
We enjoyed our stay here, although accommodation was a bit dated and scruffy. Staff were very friendly and pool area and gardens were lovely. Local beach a short walk, very small but characterful. Walk along cliff tops to carveiro was spectacular.
Hotel staff quite friendly, best was Antonio at the bar!!
Room disappointing as my side sea view meant I had to stick my head out of the balcony and peek between trees and bushes to get a glimpse of the sea.
Buffet style English breakfast was horrible. Food not the best of variety and charge for all drinks, even water!!
Evening entertainment guide good.
This is a golf resort of villas around a golf course. There is no central hotel with facilities to meet at as suggested by the title of the resort. There is a golf club house with a decent restaurant and small pool but little seating area. There isn't a main place where children on the resort can meet other children. The accommodation staff changed so some didn't even know the area to recommend where the closest shop was whereas others were very helpful. The villa was large but without air conditioning. It was serviced everyday but the cleaner moaned about having no time and left me to unload and hang up any towels she washed. Overall it's a good resort for families who want to have a holiday without meeting others or for golfers without children.
Are you planning a relaxing holiday in Algarve ? Looking for a welcoming Lagoa, Portugal, accommodation ? Pestana Golf …More
We have just returned from 4 nights here and couldn't have been happier with our choice.
The room was clean and modern. The pool was refreshing and we always got a Sun bed. The food was yummy. Repetitive but when you're catering for many nationalities I think that's to be expected.
The hotel staff were fabulous. There are issues with taxis (not enough) and when ours didn't arrive (after an hour wait) they took us in their shuttle transport so we didn't miss the wedding we were over there for. The didn't charge either.
Only negative is that we had to pay for pool towels.
TIP: try out the Rosal Brassiere next door for fabulous food!
At the head of a long verdant valley the popular, pretty little resort of Carvoeiro opens onto a small golden cove. Steep cliffs dotted with traditional houses rise to either side while the surrounding area has been heavily developed with low-rise apartments. Fishing boats ferry holidaymakers to less busy picture-perfect coves at Benagil, Carvalho and Marinha. Adjacent, the curious eroded rock formations of Algar Seco are worth exploring.
