"Close to City Centre"
Got to the hotel no problem. Spacious room for two single beds can i cannot fault anything else. Loads of places you can takeaway or eat in. Better if you book advance for Friday or Saturday. If coming on Wednesday/Thursday, book ahead for Friday/Saturday. For good breakfast, go to Maggie May, I highly recommend it. I ordered french toast with sausage and drizzled with maple syrup. (Yep you read it right). That just optional if you got a sweet tooth.

Apartment was in a great location to explore Belfast by foot. The apartment was very nice but there were one or two minor complaints. The first man that we spoke to could not have been more helpful but the second seemed very unsure on how to rectify the problems.

"The staff were fantastic. "
I had a croaky voice and twice during my stay, the young waitresses brought me hot lemon and honey and were very caring. Everyone was very friendly. Apart from being a good location, everything else about the hotel was average to good. The staff set it apart.

Carrickfergus is a wonderful playground for families on holiday here, chock-full of fun excursions and attractions that will capture the imagination of children young and old, while not boring their parents.

It’s important when taking a family holiday to select a suitable hotel and there is ample accommodation in Carrickfergus and the surrounding area that will meet your needs, ensuring that you and your family enjoy a memorable and relaxing time together.

    Local Attractions in Carrickfergus

Stay out of town for easy access to the miles of walking and mountain-biking trails in the frankly spectacular County Antrim countryside and get back to nature. Or base yourselves close to the seaside so you have easy access to the maritime attractions, a must for lovers of all nautical. These include the Carrickfergus Marina, which offers a wide selection of eateries and coffee houses, as well as a wonderful view of the boats and wildlife.

Other points of interest in Carrickfergus include the castle, which has a museum and life-sized historical figures dotted around to keep the kids entertained. Or for a more unusual, but equally intriguing attraction, visit the Flame Museum at the old Gasworks, the highlight of which is indubitably the ascent of the gasholder.

Alternatively take a walk up the Knockagh monument or along the Blackhead Path, both of which offer stunning views out to sea. What you do on your family holiday is up to you, but wherever you stay you can be sure there is a wealth of family-friendly activities within a short distance.

Booking Your Family-Friendly Hotel in Carrickfergus

Use the advanced hotel reservations system from Expedia to check if your hotel has all the amenities you require, be it extra beds or cribs for very young children, a DVD player in the room, child-friendly menus in the on-site restaurant, or blackout blinds on the windows so that everyone gets a good night’s sleep. Generous, comfortable accommodation, with interlinking rooms, can be found in many Carrickfergus hotels, while there is a wealth of choice available in the locations available. You can be on the coast, in closer proximity to the centre, or secluded in the beautiful County Antrim countryside.

Several of these hotels have a games room to keep older children entertained after dinner, while others benefit from indoor pools, an ideal solution to a rainy day. And if Mum and Dad decide they’d like an evening off to do their own thing in Carrickfergus, for a supplement they can arrange in-room babysitting or childcare, safe in the knowledge that their children are in good hands while they enjoy a night on the town.
